No. But Michigan fans paraded around the fact they had camps in Alabama and signed a half-dozen kids from the state was irritating. Plus, the notion they were offering these "poor kids" better opportunities than their home state could was self righteous bullshite.

I do like the rule change with regards to recruiting advantages. But I would lime to see them tweak it to allow schools to practice at another college. I think a week of dual squad practices would be great for both teams and coaches. In addition to promoting sportsmanship which is a keystone of the NCAA ideology.

Harbaugh should feel special.

Up until now, only Saban had a specific NCAA rule passed in his honor; now we have the "Saban Rule" and the "Harbaugh Rule".

Perhaps he recognized that if he came out against satellite camps, then everyone else would be for them. That's essentially what happened with the "fast play stuff."

I think the NCAA got this one wrong. They obviously didn't think all of this through. It's a no-brainer to deny Michigan the ability to have camps in Florida, but it makes absolutely no sense to deny a school the ability to have camps within its own state.

A lot schools have "mini" or combine type camps at a cost of $30-$50. This gets kids exposure at a low cost. A kid from Houston can go to 4 or 5 of those in June and get lots of exposure relatively cheap.

Otherwise you have to add travel costs and overnight accommodations which limits the number of camps.

And if the kid who goes to the camp at A&M isn’t good enough to play at A&M, then what? Previously, coaches from SFA, Texas State, Rice, SMU, North Texas, Sam Houston, etc. could and would all go to the A&M camp hoping to find a kid that could play but probably wasn’t good enough for A&M. Now, those coaches can’t go to the camp to find this type of player, so the kid is SOL.

The narcissism of the SEC is fascinating, the only people who get hurt with this rule are the kids themselves. But the SEC doesn’t really care about that.
