A friend of mine in Florida just posted that his sister is evacuating the Atlantic Coast area and there is nowhere to go. Hotel rooms are filled across the state.

Anyone else hearing this? I imagine that Gainesville is all booked up with evacuees since I'm hearing nothing will happen there.

Will hotels honor the reservations that LSU have for the game in Gainesville with all of the people responding to the mandatory evacuation orders?

Just wondering how LSU fans will be accommodated as they come in for the game with all of the evacuees in the area. When will Florida tell us about that?

If evacuees are going there it should be perfectly safe to play football

That's not on UF. If you have reservations, call the hotel to confirm that they are still good.

I don't know where they are going. I'm just hearing that hotel rooms are filling up as people try to leave the coast.

I imagine that if Gainesville isn't being hit that it would be a major place for evacuees to go. Just wondering about that.

Really? It's a Florida game weekend and a major Cat 4 hurricane is hitting the coast and you found 4 rooms available in Gainesville for THIS weekend? You sure you did that search right, hoss?

Maybe people aren't going to Gainesville and are trying to get further away from the storm. Maybe that means they expect Gainesville to get hit pretty hard.

Maybe they haven't evacuated yet. My guess is that those rooms will be grabbed by Friday and Saturday nights, though.

I'm asking about lodging.

What is your problem?

I don't play the game. But, I would like to know about the hotel situation.

Safe to say people are evacuating further East and/or North than Gainesville then.

You should probably tell your friend that his sister has no idea how to use a phone or the internet.
