The only reason Hooker isn't there is because he got hurt. That's it. Nobody with half a brain cell thinks Bennett is better than him. Bennett isn't even a top twenty player on his own team. He will be selling cars in Athens within five years.

Stetson Bennett is not a better QB than Hendon Hooker nor is he as good as Mac Jones.
He simply can’t make the same throws those two do.
Bennett is an outstanding QB when operating a system that caters to his skill set and has a strong running game to take some of the burden. He has been great in Athens and deserves a lot of respect.
The offensive staff at UGA does as well for letting him be who he is without asking him to be someone he’s not.
But Bennett would not be able to do for UT what Hooker did this year, he simply doesn’t have the physical gifts to do so.

Stetson doesn't pass the look test and doesn't pass the stats test. What he does probably better than any QB is play well and win big games.
Two playoff games last year: 5 TDs, 0 Ints.
Tenn and SEC Champ game this year: 7 TDs, 0 Ints.
The Missouri game this year he completed his last 7 passes and led us to 2 4th Q TD drives to win it.
He won't win the Heisman, but he deserves to be in NYC (as does Hendon Hooker).

We’ll maybe you should argue with the Heisman Committee because they agree. Bennett was invited and Hooker wasn’t.
I probably would have invited Hooker and left Bennett off, but what I think doesn’t count.

He got invited because these people had ballots and filled them out and Bennett got more votes than Hooker.

To be fair, and since you brought it up, George Rogers wasn’t the best player in college football and shouldn’t have won it in 1980. Kind of a lifetime achievement award for him back then.

That is the funniest thing I have read all day.
Hookers senior season should be dedicated to heupel.
Look at the highlight reel.
Deep throws to wide open receivers with defenders 2 yards in trail.
Hell... that was stetson's highlight reel in 2021.
No offense to hooker. But he reads half the field. Often has 1 read. And his highlight tape is based 100% on scheme where he has a layup deep to hyatt.
