I mean, without the benefit of going through spring practice and summer and fall camps?

Who knows. Stet has been QB1 at every school he has played for. But, so has Hooker. Both have done more than one system.

I think both would do well, in a switch. Both are smart QBs.

I still think DeWayne McBride deserved at least an invite. Dude was unreal for UAB this year.

Bennett throws it more than Hooker so I’m not sure that HH is “padding” stats in comparison to Bennett

Oh and let’s not forget still chunking it up when they are up big in the 4th quarter just to pad stats

That wasn’t Hooker. Milton needed the game reps because he seems to get overhyped in game situations. He needs to learn to settle down.

I think if Heisman voting were ranked choice voting,

It's a modified borda count, which gives points based on position voted (similar to how the AP and coaches polls work), but you only get points for spots 1-3 or so (might be 1-4 or 1-5).

It's definitely NOT a simple plurality ("most first place votes wins")

If I switched bodies with Brock Bowers, would I be headed to the NFL?
I can't argue that Bennett is the best player in the nation, but the level of disrespect aimed at this kid is astounding. He's worked incredibly hard to get to where he is. He's a winner. When Hooker and Bennett faced off this season, Bennett's team won while Hooker was missing open receivers. Maybe that's something to consider.

Because he’s better. And he showed it head to head

I think it comes down to the way his two loses looked, and in all honesty the fact he is hurt. I know it shouldn’t matter, but I feel that’s why he’s not there..

Basically he’s Mac Jones. Capable of winning a game if he needs to, making sure he isn’t losing it if he doesn’t.

This is the dumbest comparison I’ve ever heard. Mac was elite his senior year and not some game manager like you think he was

Calling Stetson a game manager shows you don’t know dick about football

I don’t get the hate for Bennett. The kid does exactly what’s asked of him. He throws for probably 300 plus yards against good competition. Does not turn the ball over and if I’m honest out of Bamas last 4 QBs, even though all are first round picks and will be starters in the NFL, the least gifted out of all of them, Mac Jones ran the offense better than any of the other 3. Don’t get me wrong I understand Macs entire OL and WRs were drafted and are playing in the NFL but Tua and Jalen both played with the same WRs and OL. Bryce did not have those same luxuries so it is a bit of an unfair comparison.

It’s not hating on Bennett to say someone else should have been a heisman finalist over him

QBs don’t go head to head. They play against each others’ defenses. Bennett wins every QB “duel” because Georgia’s defense is elite. Hooker played GA’s D. Bennett played UT’s soft pass coverage.

I’m happy for Bennett because he’s basically living his dream right now, but anyone who thinks he’s as good a QB as Hooker doesn’t know football.

It’s because HH got 1/3 of his numbers against G5 and FCS teams and on the biggest of stages on the road as the CFP #1. He was made to look average. He lost the award that night. The Heisman is no longer about stats it’s about Hero’s and the face of CFB.

There are other awards for stats, the Heisman is supposed to be about something else , the it factor.

Hate him all you want, but after 3 years as starter a record of 23-4, 2 SEC east titles, 1 SEC crown, a record against UGA main rivals of 13-1 in the regular season, back to back regular season 12-0, MVP in Orange, SECCG, and the National Championship, and A National Championship.

Stetson Bennett IV has IT! He’s a Winner! He’s clutch! He persevered when everyone doubted.

He may not win tonight, but he exactly the type of player who should get it.

“ Outstanding performance which best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work.”

Pretty much, he played for the only starting oline in college football that wasn’t credited for giving up a sack and he still managed to look pretty average much of the time. His stats are not overly impressive

He probably felt sorry for them. Is that what you are trying to suggest? Lol. “He was really good in 5 games”

Ken dorsey should have won 2 heismans. He had "it" also.

And Peyton should have too. My point is I believe the Trophy has changed , actually fine back to how it was originally intended.

Who is the face of college football.. who has those moments. It’s not just a stats award, anymore.

Hooker finished 22 in passing yards, even if he played against Vandy he wouldn’t have gotten into the top 10. 14th in TD passes.

QBs throwing over 3000 yards are every where these days, 20 plus TDs is common, it can’t be just stats in the wide open offenses.

Last year Bryce Young had incredible stats, but 30 of his 47 TDs were in first read throws to slants or screens within 7 yds of scrimmage. That’s not BY that’s weapons making plays for him. He won it on the other 17 TDS that were magical, that made sports center; that made you sit up in the biggest moments and say how in the hell did he do that. He was clutch! He wore a cape, not just to Bama fans but to the football world. He was the face of college football in 2021. He was a hero!
