Chairman of CFP Committee said no one in the room questioning putting a Ohio State ahead if TCU to avoid putting Mi vs Ohio State in semi final game after their recent head to head game. Said no one even raised the question. How many of you believe this.

I absolutely don’t believe it.

Not me. The ratings on New Year's Eve for a rematch of the game would be abysmal.

They think we're stupid.
We are stupid but not that stupid.

The entire thing is a complete farce. If Ohio State lays an egg against Georgia, I don’t want to hear another expert sing the praises of the Big 10

They rearranged the seeding twice to avoid a Bama/UGA matchup in the semis, not surprising.

What if UGA lays an egg?

They have been laying eggs for years and people said OSU and Michigan deserve to be in the top 4 because they beat Penn State.
Penn State by the way has one of the worst schedules, didn't beat a ranked team all season and lost to both of those teams by double digits.

Had to seed these teams like this. No one wanted to see UGA vs TCU. That game would only solidify the fact that the committee made an error putting TCU in the Top 4.

Would be more of an impossibility they didn’t discuss it given obvious angles (that most media was discussing)
1-Ratings
2-OSU-Mich rematch (they obv didn’t want)
3-Locations (would have sent both out west)
Really hope UGA and TCU win and conf gets left out.

It's just completely random how they deftly avoid rematch semis and frankly it is conspiratorial and problematic for you to suggest otherwise.

It's 100% bullshite. Georgia got screwed.
What he's really saying is - they had their orders before they met, and everyone understood the assignment.

Agreed. But, GA will take care of business

The committee sure messed this up big time. Perhaps they thought Georgia would bring nothing ratings-wise to the finals and placed us 4.

I personally have no plans to watch any of it...legally anyway. There is no real reason why TCU is ahead of Ohio St.
But college football is literally the only reason I buy live TV, and I always cancel during the off season. This year, I think I'll just save the $70 and just steal it from a stream. I would normally never do such a thing, but I'll not be supporting this crap.
So ESPN won't be getting my viewer rating, and they won't be getting my money either. frick them.

They intentionally try to put off conference match-ups. I think it's an oversight, because there's no way I would watch an OSU-Michigan championship game. I know it's a 25% probability, but it's a big risk.

Yeah I think so. But it's going to be a much more physical game than the TCU game would have been.
Georgia is going to have to beat Ohio St, then turn around and beat Michigan the next week.
