Guess who else gets fired in the SEC, every year ? White coaches. At least one coach gets fired every year. Usually two to three.
And how many of those keep getting other opportunities even after they have proven that are not that level coach? Jesus, just look at the recycled NFL coaches.

So you are in favor of not only giving blacks football coaching jobs because they are black, but also reparations too?
Neat.

I am so tired of this argument. A good coach, no matter the color is a good coach. Now tell me a great, PROVEN black coach in the ranks right now. There are many many more uproven white coaches but thats not the question. You could make an argument for James Franklin but he hasn't taken Penn St back the JoePa heyday of the 1980's. Herm Edwards sux, We;ll see how the cat at ND does. The argument is always this coordinator, that coordinator, this linebackers coach should get a chance. Why? what makes them more qualified. Ask any state fan if Sly Croom was a good coach. It had nothing to do with Sly being black, it had to do with him not being a good head coach. Like Dubose wasn't, like DiNardo wasn't, like Matt Luke wasn't, like Watson Brown wasn't, like Dan mullen wasn't.

Where are the Latino coaches? Latinos make up a far greater percent of the US population than blacks.
I mean if we are basing everything off the color of one’s skin and not actually being the best hire for that particular job?

Ty Willingham deserves another chance and Bammer is the perfect place for him to have that chance.

Exactly how many coaching gigs did you want Herm Edwards to get ? As Mike Singletary said, "don't want him, can't win with him".

You’re viewed as racist if you don’t hire them, and viewed as racist if you fire them. Heck Richardson sued us and set our basketball program back after he was fired by making it a racial issue.
If they are the best option they should be hired, if they don’t do well they should be fired like everyone else without the hoopla.

How do we untie these knots?

Note to everyone worried about the lack of options for potential black coaches ... your favorite college or pro team could hire Hue Jackson today. The man is available.

I think Eskimos have a legitimate argument as well. I’ve never heard of one in the coaching ranks.

i guess this could have been in the political board (or maybe the OT), but oh well

It's only a problem for people who can't understand the difference between equal opportunity and equal outcome. And those people are usually pretty dumb.
In the end, these people are merely asking for special treatment.
It's the real pandemic in this country.

Hasn't been a single Blind Man, or Woman, even get a sniff at Position Coach in the SEC.

Yet another article where they find a shitty coach who will claim he was fired for anything other than his talent.

Tennessee led the way with Black HCs in the SEC by hiring this guy as the head coach of the basketball team.
His performance on the court should answer Croom's question. Wade Houston is the very definition of "nice guys finish last." Nice guy, horrible coach.

Did Sumlin win the 2022 National Recruiting Trophy ? I rest my case. They'll be printing those tee shirts in College Station for the next decade.

I don't see why this is a problem.
