The days of Dabo and Saban having a roster crammed with 5 stars ends very soon.

The lure of money now is going to cause a much broader distribution of the stars.

Neither Saban now Dabo will be able to pay "star level" money to 10 - 15 players on their roster. Those guys are going to be spread out to other schools willing to up the ante for 1 or 2 key recruits.

Just like the HUNH was the end of Alabama/Saban.

And the playoffs, that was the end of Alabama/Saban.

etc.

Nothing is going to change except the bottom teams will get weaker.

Distribution of top prospects will change because a lot of guys are going to be able to make more locally then going across the country.

Yea, I'm pretty sure recruiting is going to be mostly the same.

Saban was calling for players to get paid a decade ago. So he once again was ahead of everyone else.

Saban will do it better, turn it into an advantage and get copied by every college program, just like everything else he does.

A guy that runs a Bama website pointed out the other day that people aren't paying attention to where the viewers are for college football: it directly translates to fans who will follow these kids.

Birmingham has led the market for 12 straight years. The advertising base is there and there's a lot.

I must be in the overwhelming minority. I don't see too much changing.

Why all of a suddenly Missouri is able to get 4* recruits? It has a lot to do with NIL!

Don't look now, but Barry Odoms is no longer your head coach.

GDP For SEC States ($billion)

Texas $1,744 NO STATE INCOME TAX
Florida $953 NO STATE INCOME TAX
Georgia $546
Louisiana $230
South Carolina $211
Alabama $200 CHARGES STATE INCOME TAX

Even Saban can't repeal economics! Top recruits gonna have their hands out wanting serious money deals upfront. And no Alabama is not some huge cool nationwide megabrand. 49 1/2 states in the country are eager to watch them get their arse kicked.

GDP has nothing to do with it. Major money in the Bama program, history and the truth that every year we are in the playoffs.

You are going to find out the hard way.

I feel sorry for the teams that have decent players or developed players. The transfer portal plus $$$ deals. Ya'll about to get robbed!

You ags keep hyping up money ever since you have been graciously allowed into the conference. So far, it has, at best, given you a Heisman winner and an Orange Bowl win.

Suddenly the NiL is going to be y’all’s meal ticket? Sorry, 5-star kids aren’t going to suddenly attend aggy because they get a TV spot in a Wings N More commercial.

You sound like a Texas fan.

They always brag about how they have the most money and can buy anything they want, but they never actually do.

The one thing I am interested with regarding Saban is his recruiting pitch. There was a 20ish minute video, where Saban was on a zoom call with a recruit. One of his biggest parts of his pitch was basically "Coaches promising early playing time is dumb. No NFL scouts ask me what you did your freshman year. They care about your junior and senior year."

You can't really pitch kids that way with NIL, unless they have a massive social media following and are able to monetize it without their onfield performance earlier in their career. Being recognizable, on and off the field, at the earliest possible date, is now the most important thing I feel.

Exactly! Playing time = name recognition = Mo money!

And Saban gonna find out that transfer portal works both ways!
