What are you talking about? AU is second in the SEC in revenue generating CFB programs, only behind UGA. Some of you are really dumb.
I think a lot of people get confused differentiating a school's endowment (or even the state's finances) with the athletic department. The athletic departments operate almost completely separately. The school (state) is paying a very small fraction of coaching salaries and nothing towards buyouts. Almost everyone in the SEC has enough rich boosters willing to put up money for anything if they want to.

You dont think the older Walton's would throw money at Mizzou too considering Sam is a mizzou alum?
I don't, Arkansas either, pissing off the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and others is bad business.
You don't think giving another SEC school a competitive advantage wouldn't piss off the entire state?

They don't care for sports or NIL. The only Walton that would do it is Bud Walton and he is dead.

They might build a stadium but not as much as they would give to Arkansas. The older Walton's loved donating to the sports programs here. For Missouri they loved donating to the arts and urban development. Which is what the current generation is doing here now.
I am not knocking Mizzou here. Fayetteville and Columbia have both benefited in a big way from the Walton's deep pockets.

Oh they love throwing money out there, I mean we already have Walton Stadium. But now with a Kroenke kid signed for womens basketball, I expect Walton/Kroenke money to start flowing into athletics.

Arkansas is currently leading the nation in NIL deals (300 athletes signed to NIL deals).
Non-SEC: Memphis and FedEx, Washington just announced a new NIL initiative backed by Amazon,Costco,Alaska Airlines, and Microsoft.

No matter how proud you are of your athletes, no one really cares nationally about them with their uniforms off.

Our NIL game must be pretty damned strong if you look at the recruiting class

This is what I was alluding to in the OP. NIL is a way for Boosters to Launder dirty recruiting money to the croots legally.
I think of organizations that use boosters to cover the huge buy outs for their failing coaching staffs. I've seen Aggy throw money around, UT too.
Jimbo is probably offering recruits $1m+ to sign.

I think shoe companies are going to go crazy with college basketball players. Imagine if all this were legal when guys like Zion were in college
