Oh I agree. I think he’s also greatly increases the starting salary for many SEC new hires these days. With Saban making so much and the SEC forced to compete, they are having to pay unproven coaches big bank just to sign up.

Jimbo will retire him before he finishes the deal. No doubt in my mind.

I’m sorry, but Jimbo isn’t the guy for that challenge. I think Kiffin if anyone will get under Saban’s skin.

May need to wait for Jimbo to beat him at least once before throwing out this prediction.

I've always thought 2029 would be Saban's final season. Notre Dame coming to BDS will be a big deal and it would be a fitting farewell season. He'll be on up there age wise, but still younger than Bowden and Paterno at the end of their careers.
He's probably the only college football coach in America that's actually worth his salary. A negative byproduct is it makes other schools throw millions at coaches who should be making around $500,000 a year plus incentives because they haven't proven anything.

Jimbo will be long gone by 2028

I like how that website showed a picture of Saban after a win in Baton Rouge over any of the championships he's won.

The new agreement will extend his current contract by three seasons to eight years
So 5 years left and extended...

There will also be a contract completion benefit of $800,000 payable at the end of the 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 contract years.
So they don't expect him to finish out the 8 years, basically saying, we know you're gonna retire within the next 4 years, so here's a nice Bonus up on the way out.

The Harlem Globetrotters have to pay the Washington Generals comparative salaries just to show up and get their asses beat every. damn. time., too.
Just the cost of doing business
