So youre admitting your coach is a huge pussy.. I agree.

At least Saban is now admitting there is no proof to back his safety claims. He is trying to compare playing HUNH to smoking.
LINK
Too bad for him the Rules Committee chairman says they can't base the rule off of probably's.
quote:
The fastball guys (up-tempo coaches) say there's no data out there, and I guess you have to use some logic. What's the logic? If you smoke one cigarette, do you have the same chances of getting cancer if you smoke 20? I guess there's no study that specifically says that. But logically, we would say, 'Yeah, there probably is'

Saban whining about hunh offenses...... Leslie whining about cross division rivalries and schedules....... Sounds like the run of the mill offseason shite to me.

Saban begged for permission to speak before the committee so he could persuade them to vote this through. Gus makes one phone call and kills it
Saban loses his chit and starts melting about cigarettes and cancer and "common sense" arguments while admitting there is not evidence to support his arguments.
Bama fans spin the entire situation as a win for Saban.
LOL

The sad part is he wants to talk about Logic and he picks an analogy that argues the opposite of his case. He said that logic tells you if you smoke(run) one cigarette(play) you have the same chance of getting cancer(injured) as if you smoke(run) 20.
But you can tell when people start getting desperate. They start trying to make things seem more severe than they are. First Bret and players dying and now Saban and cancer.

I guess it was the only easy argument that occurred to him but opening the :player safety" can of worms was a spectacularly bad idea IMO.
Firstly, because he didn't have any data to back up the assertion and secondly because the style of play favored by more traditional coaches including Saban is probably the least safe - least safe when it relies upon chronically obese linemen who smash each other repeatedly until the opponent gives up because they have been physically pummeled into submission.
For teams that really do play a more up tempo pace I think that's probably healthier on the balance because the players are probably fitter (less likely to be obese) and therefore not only less likely to suffer the effects of obesity but also likely to hit their opponents with less force overall and therefore less likely to do as much damage to their opponents.

Cigarette analogy? Saban is losing it.
Logic tells me the bigger faster players and more games cause more injuries.
Are 20 cigarettes any worse than 18? Saban used 20 to 1.

11 pages of bitter hatred for Nick Saban. I swear some of these clowns are about to freaking cry at the very thought Saban might get something done about the HUNH.
He is going to get something done and all the boo hoo posts the Barners and yes Corndogs make won't change it.

Really! People with common sense all over the country are agreeing with this and seeing what a fool and an embarrassment saben is - and his sheep are following along and falling off the cliff as fast as they can.
I wonder if they think jumping in amid a normal conversation with cries of how many championships they've won and when the last time they beat you was and how WONderful their coach is convinces anyone that their coach has made a monumental fool of himself.
It doesn't. It just make them look as much a fool as lil nicky. Screaming a stupid thing 1000 times doesn't not make it true.
