Did he quit those places in the middle of the season?

oh so earlier in the thread you were commenting about saban to leave prior to the end of the season now he was an a-hole because he didn't leave soon enough?

I just commented, on the fact that he did leave prior to the season ending, because technically he did. my overall theme has not changed. saban did not handle his departure from lsu in the best possible way. this whole debate is what barnett owed to his team and nick saban. well, i'll ask the same of saban. when he left his former teams, did he do it gracefully? probably not. i just think he needs to keep his mouth shut. everyone looks out for themselves at the end of the day, saban included.

That's Nick covering his arse on this . Yep, he signed Bateman and Barnett to essentially take them off the boards. Once he got a guy like Hurts in there he did not need Bateman anymore and Bateman knew it.

We focus on what is directly in front of us, not end results. We want you, but know that we will win with or without you.
According to several former and current Alabama players, this is how Saban seals recruiting deals.

yeah he had the "courtesy" of putting in his notice to LSU Christmas day after he'd been dragging his feet for a month whether to take the Miami job, putting LSU in a tough spot trying to find an available head coach.
Oh, don't give me that horse shite. You found a head coach that kept you in the running for championships up until just a couple of years ago. It's really difficult for me to feel sympathy for how Saban left LSU when you went 34-6 over the next three seasons, winning a national championship along the way.
Coaches leave for jobs at the end of the regular season all the time. It's far more rare to see a coach peace out four games into the season.

youre right, backup qb is not important at all. I mean its not like we are 1 dirty play away from having to play him, with our starter who is a running qb
But.. But.. You're Bama. It shouldn't matter who is your backup. They are so deep at every position, right? Just grab a guy off the practice squad and put him in there, right? Actually at Bama, you shouldn't be bothered with this kid transferring. You won a title with Jake fracking Coker. That is a miracle in itself. Seriously. That is one of Saban's best coaching performances was to win it with Coker. And if you win with a Freshman, that would be even more amazing. But Meyer won with a third stringer. That is an even more difficult task.

Isn't Saban known for roster management and over signing? Does he have a problem sending a less productive player down the road to open the spot for someone else? If you play that game then you shouldnt call out someone that leaves on their own accord.

Come on man, don't get into this, you know bama is throwing cash at players, don't you? I admit AU is, but if you can't admit bama is you are too far gone.

and players transfer all the time, yet Saban seems to take issue with it when it inconveniences him. it's ok to admit that he can be a hypocrite at times. it doesn't make you less of a fan to call a spade a spade or saban any less of a coach. he's not above criticism as many of you may feel he is. i don't see any outrage from y'all when he processes a player to make room for a new guy, yet he has this faux outrage about a player's commitment the to team when he thinks another program may be a better fit for him.

ok guy. your "third string" QB was getting first team reps in fall practice and has started conference games. so he's had limited reps the past month and a half, bfd, he's still had more reps than 90% of backups in college football. Saban is just salty, as usual, when he doesn't get his way

These coaches get to lie to these kids all the time like pulling offers the last week of recruiting, saying they are not going to leave for the NFL while recruiting then bolting when they feel like it and that is fine. Who knows why this kid wants to leave? He is doing something he thinks is best for him but he is labeled a quitter? Saban talking about morality issues is fricking hilarious, I can't believe he really thinks that people don't look at this and find him hypocritical. Saban and Meyer are the best coaches in CFB but they are absolutely void of any integrity. On that note I held my nose when he was here and rolled with it but I sure as hell didn't defend him when he pulled some shite like this. Then again I've spent a large part of my adult life in a Marine Corps Infantry Unit and tend not to play the sheep role like some.
