My main concern is for Blake's girlfriend, who must be having a difficult time with all this transition, and I'm available to help provide the emotional and physical support she needs.

Blake thought without a shadow of a doubt he was going to be the guy this year. His parents were pushing it and he believed it. Then along came hurts and beat him out and he didn't have the grit to work hard enough to win the job.

Sounds like you're still butt hurt over 48-43...

I get what Saban is saying but people are not going to listen because he job hopped. He doesn't give two shits what fans/media think though. He was speaking to his players when he said that

It's funny that you make this statement

not wholesome and pure like the "auburn family".
And this one in the same sentence. I get it, you hate auburn and when somebody points out Saban's lack of character, it has to be because they hate Alabama. You're a victim man.

It's called the recruiting process. They promise these kids the world to get them on their team and when it doesn't work out you have bad attitudes.
It's more than that. I coached an AAU Showcase basketball team for several years. Parents refuse to see the level of caliber of their kids as do certain coaches. I had an assistant coach one year who kept preaching to the team about their "dream of playing D1 college basketball". He was selling a lie. Less than 3% of all high school basketball players play college basketball on any level. Less than 1% of college players ever play in the NBA. He's standing there telling 13 kids that all of their basketball aspirations should be to play D1 ball when the message should be that they should hope to play college ball on any level if that is what they want.
The primary reason I stopped coaching is because of the parents. I loved working with the kids (coached 16U and 17U).

All you have to do is go back through this thread and see which of us tries to be intellectually honest and balanced in his comments, and which of us posts in absolutes which are consistently negative and on the extreme end of interpretations of the opposing program's actions.

The only thing Saban promises these guys is they would have the opportunity to compete. The best player is going to play. BB8 got an opportunity as promised. He was the odds on favorite this year but Hurts came out and won the job. BB8 has a critical role on this team it just isn't the one he wants. It's a lesson he would learn if not at Bama surley in the NFL if he ever gets drafted.

I said I was biased toward Saban, but if you read most of the bama posters in this thread 95% doesn't and won't ever find fault in Saban. That's why I'll err on the side of condemnation because it really pisses them off, sort of like coachcrispy.

TigerDat - Of course I would take a better job offer. I wouldnt go dissing people that do after doing so thought
So....let me get this straight...LSU fans have been gracious and understanding about Louisiana HS players and coaches who went to Alabama? Landon Collins for instance...and for that matter, Saban leaving?
LSU people must be the most anti-dissing people in the world... except when they diss.

Don't be naive, you have no idea what Saban promises those kids.

Ok. If there's a partial troll agenda in your responses, then there's no sense in debating them. I hope you get what you're looking for.

Former players generally note that Saban makes it painfully clear what the process (no pun intended) will be once they arrive on campus. Julio talks about quite frequently. Saban has his faults (I don't think what he said last night was very wise or prudent), but it's pretty well established he doesn't make promises regarding playing time or depth charts.

My posts are threefold in form: partial truth, troll and bias. I never take this place too serious, but I like to ruffle a few feathers

How do you think Saban and Meyer pull the recruits they do year after year? Competition breeds success and that is one of the main things they sell. Ohio State rotates four cornerbacks this year, eight receivers and ten defensive lineman. I know Alabama does the same. Depth like that creates an atmosphere of competition in practice because you truly are competing for game reps and the players buy into it.
It's a "next man up" philosophy that most schools wish they were able to foster.

Saban is so successful for several reasons, one being his intensity. For example his absolute rage and arse-chewing of Lane while up 28 with no time left in the game.He can also be a POS... see example above.

He was at Michigan State for 5 seasons, LSU 5 Seasons, Miami 2 seasons, and now Bama for 10 seasons. Other than Miami (where he just realized he didn't like coaching in the NFL) I don't really consider that job hoping. He took a step up in the profession with each of those moves. Also he never pulled a Petrino and ducked out in the middle of a season.
