There is no debate. One played an extra game with NFL level talent to help while the other only had one OL to take a NFL snap. Come back when Burrow takes a bad team to the superbowl.

When was the last time an FBS QB threw for 60 TD passes?

Looks like over 250 QBs have done this

Sam Bradford threw 50 touchdowns in 2008 in 14 games in the Big 12.

Thats still 10 less than Burrow threw in only one more game.

and played the defenses Burrow did (before you start trying to hype the defenses LSU played, look at the offenses they went against) ?

Who the frick else could they have played?

None outside of Auburn played a good offense. UGA spent all year playing against backup QB and an overrated ND team. Bama didn't play anyone. Clemson didn't play anyone but OSU who didn't play anyone.

Who played anyone then?

The #1 website in your state agrees.

Up until Monday night, my default position was that Cam Newton’s 2010 was the greatest individual season in college football history.

Up until Monday night, my default position was that either 1995 Nebraska or 2018 Clemson enjoyed the greatest team season in college football history.

On Tuesday morning, my default position is that both positions have changed.

Joe Burrow’s 2019 is the greatest individual season in college football history.

Ooof.

Someone impressive. Those defenses played a bunch of bad offenses (which make their stats better). This was not an impressive year for the sec defensively. Burrow's stats from 2018 shows he's not doing anything unless everything lines up perfect for him. He didn't help his team anywhere near most of these QB yall keep comparing him to did their Jr or some even FR or So years.

So much for what could have been a great career.

I can't believe a Bama website tried to trash an Auburn player. Having a great year doesn't mean he is the greatest player. It's why the NFL has so many bust. Cam has proven he wasn't all hype. Now it's Burrow's turn to show that his one good year wasn't a fluke.

Who impressed you? All of the top teams didn't "play anyone" according to you.

Great players still stand out in most situations. No one even knew who he was outside of the sec and OSU before last year. Again, he has his chance to prove he isn't overhyped.

QBR in National Championship Games
2019 Joe Burrow: 97.5
2013 Nick Marshall: 83.6
2010 Cam Newton: 66.1

Looks like Cam was carried in the most important game of his college career by his RB and defense.

Burrow isn't going to the real NFL. He is going to a farm team.

I'll be surprised if he amounts to much in the NFL. System QB just like the past few QB Heisman winners.

I think the main issue is that offense isn't going to translate into the NFL when lineman aren't allowed 3-5 yards downfield anymore.

He didn't look very good at all until that system was installed.

And yes, before someone asks I wonder the same thing about Tua. I'm honestly not big on Tua either.
