In all seriousness here, curious as to whom A&M fans would like to realistically see as their next coach if Jimbo cannot turn it around next season to the University’s expectation? Everyone jokes but there is a great deal of resources, notable fanbase, location (in talent rich Texas), and good overall infrastructure, in the most noteworthy conference in the nation.

I’m sure Lane Kiffin is sucking cock to get the job, has already signed a memorandum of agreement with them and is already packing.

They will at least swing for the fences and dangle a carrot out to Coach Saban

Won’t happen for years. Did you miss the article Jimbo isn’t getting fired even at $40 million buyout no matter how many threads tRant starts. Hence, it’s a waste of time for Aggies to take seriously. Troll on. I find y’all’s opinions on what you guys would do if y’all were the AD or some rich boosters funny/good reads.

Honestly expect Texas to try that after next season, to make a “splash” into the SEC but Saban won’t budge.

Im aware of the article, can you pinpoint exactly where it mentioned Jimbo won’t be on the hot seat and gone should he have another lackluster season? A&M is willing to dish out the money, why continue on with a coach who can’t provide what they’re aiming for? A&M would be terrifying national title contenders, under a better suited coach.

I don’t doubt that they’ll get a big time hire, it’s a great job if they can find the right captain to steer the ship

He's not getting fired next year, but, if he did, I'd want Elko.

Probably an ex LSU guy.

Miles, O, Aranda, Brady, etc...

They want to be LSU so bad they'd STTD on Canal Street if they have to.

No one would do that at this point. Saban does not have much time left in football no matter where he coaches.

What we should do: Do our research and take a chance on a young up and coming coordinator who has worked under a successful head coach. A guy with something to prove.

What we will do: “Steal” another programs head coach (overpay), our donors will puff their chests out about it, he will maybe win a NY6 bowl or something and then do just enough not to get fired before completely shitting down his leg in year 4 or 5. In hindsight, we will realized he peaked at his previous program and then pay him retirement money to go away. We will then talk ourselves into making the same mistake again next go around.

I'd think Jimbo has one more chance and if he fails then he's done! I will say this about A&M no matter how much I hate them, they will have top flight coaches lining up for that gig!

What would you think about Garrett Riley perhaps? If A&M would take a risk on a first time head coach at that point, rather than the Jimbo route again?

This is what people said before the year and I said if they wanted to get rid of him they could find a way to wiggle out likely. Minimum come to some sort of agreement for less cash

I’d be more inclined to believe A&M could build toward a national championship quicker than Texas. They have also been in the SEC for a decade and that does matter. That’s a top ten job, nationally if they can retain most of their recruits/current freshman and Jimbo being gone. He really just shite the bed there. They have a good young quarterback, RB depth, Evan Stewart, etc.
