Right, but what I think he is trying to say is that Bama sat Sexton for a different meal. They paid back a different meal, the indication being that this one was not known about, causing him to be ineligible this season.
That would be the only way I see Bama having any issues here. We just don't fully know what was known when Sexton sat the first game and what wasn't known. If Sexton paid back both meals, no issues. If only one meal was known back then, there could be some issues.

Pete Thamel did not name Auburn.
Does not compute.

I just want to know what’s going to happen to the teams on Tobacco Road.... if nothing is happening to them then just close the entire investigation

Is this latest information just related to a street agent's payment spreadsheet getting leaked to the public?
If so, then who the hell can trust these pimps in the first place?
And does the NCAA even have the manpower to investigate one pimp's payment sheet to find out if the impermissible benefits, i.e. cash payments/travel/meals can be proven or not? My God, it took them +5 yrs to investigate OleMiss' piddly football/Booster operation before they finally laid down the sanctions.
This basketball shite will go way too deep for the NCAA to even start an investigation.

My guess is that Forde and Thamel have more and are dripping the stories out. They claim to have viewed thousands of documents, but this story appears to really only reference a few pages of documents.

"The NCAA was so mad at Kentucky they gave Cleveland State two more years of probation."
Jerry Tarkanian knew what was going on, and his quote said it all.
Basketball is the cash cow for the NCAA.
With the mention of Duke and North Carolina, North Carolina A&T and Spelman are going to catch the wrath of NCAA.
All other schools will have a note placed in their permanent record.

I am shocked people are acting like any of this is a huge deal. I don't know the involvement of those outside of UK, but from what I read, Forde and Thamel hyped this thing up and underperformed with the revelation. Worst case scenario for UK is we vacate last season. We don't hang Elite Eight banners so it doesn't affect anything. So all of this hype about half the teams that CBS seeded might be in trouble and up to 50 schools getting punished is pretty absurd.

quote:How do you come out smelling like a rose when your Asst Head Coach was indicted by the Feds and may face prison time in addition to losing 2 of your top players to NCAA suspension for a full season + having 2 of your asst coaches on administrative? Add in the headlines on every news feed back in Sept broadcasting Auburn University's name in relation to former AU player Chuck Persons soliciting to the parents (also former AU athletes) and tied up in up to 6 federal counts of fraud/conspiracy/bribery/solicitation.....

If that smells like a rose to you then your sense of smell was damaged beyond repair from the cow manure mucked out of the Barn.

What do you think they were discussing at this meal? What their favorite songs were?
I am guessing they were talking money. And I know how you bammers can’t stand players or their parents potentially discussing money while not yet graduated. (I remember something like that regarding Cam Newton).
Hypocrite much??

You post this comment in a thread about an article that implicates Alabama as well.
