The elephant as a mascot comes from one rose Bowl where a sports writer (Grantland Rice?) described Alabama’s line looking like a herd of elephants on the field.
And does your team favor a herd of land sharks? I think not.

What ever happened to that dude on the chopper? That could have worked, but they sanitized it too much. He needed loud-arse pipes to just throttle up and roar in the stadium. Woulda coulda shoulda

The Ole Miss Lobbyists with Haley Barbour as the mascot?
Might work. We could rename the locker room "K Street" and call Vaught-Hemingway "The Capitol." Bobble head Haley could walk around the sidelines, pulling money out of a barrel marked "Pork" and make it rain on the crowd.
