I'm guessing every poster who's trashed the idea of renovating/expanding Kyle has never actually been to a game there, or even to College Station, and thinks that A&M is basically a glorified Mississippi State, and College Station is a glorified Starkville (no offense MSU fans).
Actually it kind of is.(no offense A&M fans) The only difference is population size.
But yes, you do need to renovate Kyle field b/c I was in College Station two Sunday's ago and it looked aged. About as bad as State's west side(no offense A&M fans).

No; if/when it comes back it will likely be a September game, as LSU will be soon locked in as our Thanksgiving weekend opponent.
Until Deloss retires/kicks the bucket, it is a non starter. Personally, I want our feet fully on the ground in the SEC before we even consider it.

forget all this riff raff...I just want to know are there plans to reschedule UT as an OOC game series?
We've already told them we'll play them OOC any time, but they're too butthurt over us leaving to play and too pussy to start a long-term series with an SEC team. That game will come back eventually, but probably not ever again on Thanksgiving if we swing our own border rivalry w/ LSU to that date.
frick 'em.

Explain the similarities between A&M and MSU, other than maroon/white, and Jackie.
Thanks

Nope.
We tried.
They're not interested.
In the words of Texas Aggie, Robert Earl Keen, "Leaving never hurts as much as being left behind."
The ladies from Austin are, shall we say, hurt.

Somebody mentioned "future plans" I mentioned Tennessee planned for the future and overbuilt, now they're averaging 10,000 less than capacity
What would you expect? Tennessee hasn't played football in years.

Empty seats? If the team is good there will be plenty of demand to fill in 100,000. FYI - here is an interesting report on growth estimates for the U.S. through 2020 if you really want to delve into it.
Note the Texas cities and their proximity to Kyle Field. Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio metro areas are all relatively close.

None taken. State and A&M have similar roots. I'd posit that another difference between our schools is the culture of the student population, though.

Again, none taken. I love Kyle for the history, but as a facility, it's a dump. Needed an upgrade decades ago--glad we're finally getting around to fixing the ol' gal up

Kyle Field has some of the most beautifully pristine grass you'll find anywhere. We are, after all, an Ag school.
As you should, but I never understood why you all had Astro turf for almost 30 years. Never made sense to me.
Looking forward to seeing it next month.

well both are THE state Ag schools. Do I really need to go further than that?
Other than population size and one's in Texas and the other is on MS, what's the difference?

400,000,000 Jesus..
Does this cost include the two cock statues that will be constructed outside the stadium? A small one labeled Texas, and a giant one labeled TAMU?

One of the prelimonary drawing that had been making the rounds. Not official but give you an idea of how big this project really is. It isn't a simple expansion, it's a total overhall which is BADLY needed.

No.
From a purely perceptional standpoint? I guess maybe.
But no, the gap that separates A&M and MSU is filled with much more than student body size.

Don't know this for certain, but could have had something to do with the fact that we ran the wishbone like it was our religion and you are generally faster on astroturf...
I hate astroturf though. Glad we made the switch...in the mid 90s ;)

Yeah the make up is different, but not too far away from the same stereotypes though.

You're right, not many are going to choose to support the smaller flagship school in austin, therefore we will profit.
Good God, will you get off Bevo's (nonexistent) dick already?
