@CecilHurt: Re: rule. Yes, the QB can still make the tackle. Can be blocked. Same interpretation as leaping WR, who can still make catch & be tackled.
Yes! More instances where a ref interprets something! Hip-hip-hurray!

I think he was objective enough. At worst, it should have been a 15 yard penalty.

There were spearing rules in place when Jefferson was speared by Deaderick. No flag was thrown so this new rule won't apply to Bama either.

It also shows you how tough Murray is.
I agree, eggs upside his house, Dial upside his face, very tough indeed. Typical Flawda boy.

Interesting and well thought out rebuttal.
This hit and the crying thereafter have been discussed ad nauseum since the time of the hit.

Sure it does.
Does it not? Dude took a hit that would incapacitate most people and got up and kept playing.
You can say a lot about Murray, but between getting hit by Fairley, Clowney, and Dial, the guy is a tough sumbitch.

You won't see me defending Saban's injury stance on HUNH. I know, he knows, and you know that it is all about him politickin' for something that helps his team. Which, ya know, is his job and all.

Look who's crying.
Shocker.
Bama has never been hosed by a missed call. EVER.

It's amazing that a head coach can scream at referees on the field, manipulate the emotions of high school kids in recruiting off the field, but when it becomes apparent that he is trying to get the rules changed in his favor SO HELP ME GOD, THERE IS GOING TO BE HELL TO PAY!

According to the rules at the time, Murray wasn't a defenseless player.
Was still a helmet to helmet hit.
You're not going to sit here and say that wasn't dirty, right?

Um that fact that it was helmet to helmet and Murray was defenseless.
Ex post facto shite, bro.

Is it spearing when your hands are out in front of your head?

You didn't comment on the helmet to helmet hit. Which was against the rules and deliberate.
It was definitely a dirty hit, and he knew it when he did it.
