Yes I don't know how you don't give it to Kirby at this point

Kirby is going to win it, but TN has definitely got a good coach.

Lots of good candidates for SEC COTY. I agree Heupel could be in the discussion, but the same can be said for nearly half of the other SEC coaches.

Not half.

I can see cases made for:

Kirby (if we win the title)
Huepel
Pittman (if they win next 2 of 3)

My vote, obviously, is for Kirby.

Bias and all.

That said, in a world where I had to vote for a coach of a team other than UGA, it'd be Harsin.

I’d say Kirby, Pittman, Kiffin, Harsin, Heupel, Stoops, Fisher, and possibly Saban.

Sam Pittman getting the Hogs to 6-3 after the Chaggie Morris debacle is the winner.
Especially once he is 8-4 or 9-3.

I forgot about Harsin. Yes, he should be in the conversation, too.

Saban? no. He has as much if not more talent than anybody and they look pedestrian right now. Don't get me wrong, they might beat Georgia and go on to win the title, but at the moment Saban is not doing the best coaching job.

And I can also see Fisher and Stoops, so I have to agree that you are correct.

I do believe that Huepel and Pittman and maybe Kirby Smart are the three tops at the moment, though.

I guess if I had to pick I would also narrow it down to Huepel and Pittman. They have done the most with the least. Once the season is done we can revisit and adjust, though.

I’m guessing you don’t usually schedule the #1 team in the country for homecoming.

He certainly should be in the running but November football is usually full of big games. Smart is in the running fueled by an awesome defense. The Broyles Award is headed to Georgia.
