Without a true PG and lacking center depth, CSP has done a good job.

Two weeks ago, I would have hoped for NIT bid.

I saw we were a 7 seed in latest bracketology, but there is a lot of basketball to be played for everyone.

I like the way the team seems to be getting better on the defensive end.

Looking ahead to next season, I like the nucleus of Sebastian Williams-Adams, Jovic, and Freeman. We need to find a PG and some additional skilled bigs.

This league has a good bit of parity this year.

We got jobbed when your coach ran on to the court which should have been a technical and had them stop the clock. And then the clock operator started the clock slow on the inbounds

The real job in that whole thing was that the ball never hit the rim on the free throw attempt. We should have had 2.4 seconds but it took a complete self implosion by AU to even be in that situation in a game they were in control of most of the way.

Right. Bet you thought you’d play us within 20 points in Auburn too. How’d that work out for you?

Y’all have a decent squad that are probably better than what your record currently is. However, it was an SEC road game and we played like shite and yall played lights out and beat the brakes off of us. We definitely have work to do on the road. Just remember, your team is about to be playing in front of 19,200+ pissed off Razorback fans(which is the same if not more than most Pro arenas), and not in a large home HS gym and it will probably affect them. We’ll see, I could see it being close. But I also think our guys are going to remember and show up. I love that we get to play twice - the real talking will be done on the court. Until we play each other, good luck and hopefully no injuries for either team.

Felt like Auburn had made it in Basketball when Arkansas rushed the court on Auburn.

The next time Auburn played in Fayetteville Auburn gave them the worst beating ever in BWA.

Bad times during some bad years. Overall, we’ve got quite a few more banners hanging in our rafters, so that stung but shite happens and we know that we’ve been Auburn’s Super Bowl in every sport since the Gus Bus first arrived and even after his departure…

Not even remotely close to the truth. Laughable, in fact.

Hey man, Gustav got a raw deal here when shite went down with the Nutt and all of that. He did not leave on his own terms and we wouldn’t have been what we even were with DMAC, Felix, and Payton but that’s how it went down. Over the years it’s festered between us more than most are willing to admit - not saying we’re rivals. Just that there’s been some bad blood between the two schools.

Crazy. The earliest Tennessee basketball games I remember watching were when Pearl played at UT. Back in those days we were satisfied to be anything better than bad.

With us botching another hire in basketball, I'd label a win over Texas "expected" vs "significant".

Uh

You guys had a very unhealthy relationship with Gus. Some of you anyway. Plenty of your folks will admit it, and I don't pretend to understand the dynamics of Arkansas HS football decades-old emotions.

I had far more interest in Arkansas when you guys were pulling weird wins against us pre Gus/Bret. As I recall it, when we hired Gus is when it got weird (one way street). The combo of Bret there and Gus here led to Arkansas having visions of supplanting Auburn as a Big 6 program, sort of akin to how Ole Miss acted lately toward the league. But I think very few Auburn people cared considerably about Arkansas football over the last 10-12 years and I certainly don't think our people think there is "bad blood." If anything, we think it was very weird how much hostility we got from Arkansas during that stretch. I think that is mostly gone now.

Now, basketball might be the opposite in a way. I respect Arkansas, but I want to beat you, and I know we're the upstart contending with the more storied program despite our competitiveness with the Hogs. But even that has died off (for me) once your pouting man child coach fled for the West Coast.

There really isnt any more bad blood with Arkansas than any other non-rival. If anything Ole Miss is closer to rivaling. Burt Bielemia tried to make the Auburn Arkansas game lot more than it is.

If there’s any confusion. That’s what I was getting at when I said he didn’t get to leave on his own terms - Gus probably would have or would have come as close to getting us to a title in my lifetime and Nutt and Co. stole all credit and then threw him to the wolves to boot.

Fair enough. I don’t think our fans have cared about Arkansas football very much over that time period either.
I think when we had Petrino was when we were peaking in terms of puffing our chests out but we were always a step behind in terms of talent depth.

As far as basketball. I commend y’all on your uprising as of late. And yes, Muss was a weirdo who couldn’t handle the pressure or something. I thought the shirt stuff was weird too, but apparently Devo Davis didn’t. Lol
