What I want to know is …did LSU sign any elite dbs, because they were , let’s say not great this year

Louisiana was down this year. This class is very comparable to Les and O in down cycles in the state.

Also depends on where you look as we’re 6th at On3

Back when I used to follow recruiting more closely, I recall they (247) would weigh scores differently if a team really needed strength at a certain position. Fake Example- if a 4 star DB went to UGA, but UGA was already stacked at the position, it didn't count as much as if a 4 star DB went to a school that desperately needed DB's. I don't know if 247 still includes that kind of thing in their scoring.

But if they do, then LSU still got out-recruited by Notre Dame.

I remember you posting that Alabama was in decline.

Welcome to the new boss, same as the old boss

From 2019-2022 there objectively was a decline.

How you do in the playoff will determine if that trend has been bucked or not. No coach over 70 has ever won a title.

Yet they still can’t win.

Neither can Auburn, or Miami

Hell, Washington is in the CFP and they aren’t even top 10.

It’s about coaching and development

How many over 70 have played for a title?

Oof.

But Kelly has had a reputation for being a lazy recruiter. So this is no big surprise.

I believe Bobby Bowden 1999 at 70 is the oldest to win or play for one

Well, some of these folks say he's gonna coach 'em up.

What he’s done in 24 months here has been impressive. Almost as impressive as Saban’s first 2 years here, taking over under somewhat similar circumstances.

Alabama is reigning SEC champion and for that matter 3 of the last 4 seasons. Last year LSU fans were celebrating a divisional “title”

Was still a decline from where the program was

It was an objectively successful first year of a rebuild
