I disagree with this on the grounds of the 4th down against Ole Miss for Vandy this year. Why should Vandy be penalized that our star WR had been cramping then got pumped full of fluids only to be hit in the stomach to cause him to regurgitate those fluids?

yes

too bad so sad maybe next time he will properly hydrate during the week.

if they are going to change rules for "player safety" then how about actually make a rule that says if you get hurt bad enough that you feel the need to come out you need to sit more than a play?

The HUNH is such a gimmick, that it requires changing the rules to stop it!

This rule is actually proposed as part of a larger recommendation that will eliminate 3-4 defenses and blitzing. It was deemed an unfair gimmick if the offense doesn't know which players are coming from where.

They should just have to line up and play the normal way.

1. They didn't play in Tuscaloosa last year.

2. Alabama won.

It's a good thing Alabama has been recruiting athletes better suited for the 4-3 over the last couple of years then.

Only pussies find something wrong with the HUNH offense, and it figures that the NCAA would follow suite.

What an abortion of an attempted rule change.

I think it would be silly to penalize a kid for underestimating how much fluid he needs to take in. It happens. No reason to make him sit out for it. Jordan puked then clearly felt well enough to play. It's not like he acted like he needed medical attention. He just knelt to blow chunks.

shite happens people exploit opportunities they see in the rules, the rules get changed. Be it recruiting, play or whatever.

This is where it's going to be problematic: defense false starts before the clock, offense snaps because defense is offsides, now who is guilty of an infraction? The defense that jumped or the offense that snapped in response? Both?

Unless they're very careful in how this is worked out written, it seems to me this could be used strategically by defenses to eliminate defensive false start penalties by intentionally false starting and provoking the offense to snap before they're allowed to, eventually offenses will be slow at snapping the ball in response and defenses will pretty much false start at will. It potentially turns a false start by the defense into a penalty on the offense.

I seem to remember a few Auburn fans who were satisfied when the NCAA proposed and passed rules aimed at limiting Nick Saban's recruiting efforts.

Now the shoe is on the other foot and you can't take the heat.
