NCAA is the judge, jury and executioner. OM is obliged to follow the rules as a voluntary member of the NCAA. Good luck suing them.

I'm curious on what grounds Ole Miss would sue the NCAA. You don't just say "Im suing you" and go to court in hopes of getting lucky. A judge could just as easily call bullshite on the whole civil suit and tell OM to pay the legal fees for wasting everyone's time.

ETA: The people in charge at OM know that they're screwed for life if the COI rules against them so they're going all in in hopes of making it through the night. They're not thinking ahead to a lawsuit because they may not have jobs when this is all over.

The school can't sue unless the NCAA tries to do something ungodly stupid like fining the school or insisting that non-athletic staff be fired.

Absent that, no suit would make it past the earliest stages for failure to state a claim upon which relief can be granted.

University of Mississippi, aka "Ole Miss" = Dead man walking.

You're whistling past the graveyard young man.

You know it's hard to say the gun is pointed at the NCAA when ole miss basically lied about every single thing. If the NCAA gives the death penalty then the NCAA will regret it.

es, Ole Miss can and probably will sue if the sanctions are beyond reason. Yes, the NCAA is a voluntary organization, but it can't a

that's what you idiots don't understand. Everyone in the college football world thinks y'all deserve the death penalty but won't get it. So how can any amount of other punishment be deemed "beyond reason". There is literally nothing that the NCAA can do to you that is beyond reason. That's how fricked you all are.

Remember this, both sides have an awful lot to lose if cooler heads don't prevail. The COI should be fully aware that this case could be one of the major cases that could shake the very foundation of the organization

Tell me vampirereb. Exactly who will stand beside you and scream "outrage!"? Every other team in intercollegiate history is laughing at you. Y'all are too stupid to insult at this point

Hmmmmm, I wonder if the NCAA investigates possible sex trafficking, or would that be an agency with subpoena power.

Just curious do you really think Ole Miss would be the only one that has been hit by massive sanctions. Alabama did less than you and it set our program back 8 years, USC did less than you and they still haven't recovered, SMU possible did less than you and they got the death penalty, Auburn been sanctioned 8 times.

If you think this could be avoided by some law suit don't you think they all would have done it?

I'm pretty sure Powell is not Vampireb. Vamp is a passionate defender of Ole Miss, but I don't think he lives in Dallas.

Simple question, have you even looked at the new penalty matrix Ole Miss, and every other school in the NCAA agreed to? There is little to no flexibility in the penalty structure beyond assigning a mitigating label to the level 1 violations included in the NOA.

The NCAA has already determined the violations and the latest responce to Ole Miss destroys the narrative that the NCAA will reclassify the level one violations to be level twos. Since that is the case this is going to be in essence a 2 to 3 day sentencing hearing based upon the new updated penalty matrix.

The entire idea that the COI is going to change their mind and go off script to lessen Ole Miss's penalties out of fear of a potential lawsuit is asinine and would actually be more likely to get the NCAA sued for not following their own new rules when it involves future cases.

Just had a song on and a few of the lines made me think of y'all. It was "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins and the verses were:

Well if you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand.

I've seen your face before, my friend, but I don't know if you know who I am.

Well I was there and I saw what you did...I saw it with my own two eyes.

So you can wipe off that grin, I know where you've been...it's all been a pack of lies.

I really enjoyed that song until I found out what it was about. Now it creeps me out every time I hear it. Kinda like "Hotty Toddy".

A lot of Ole Miss fans who are still drinking the koolaid they are being fed by some of their members are going to need mental health help after it's over.

I think Powell got all is info from Yancey who hasn't been correct in anything that's been said since all this started.
