A women's basketball recruit had Alabama decorations put in her hotel room on an official visit.

Easy to see why 99% of people hate the NCAA.

It's just like the government...waste time on useless stuff and ignore the things destroying what matters.

Wait... so did the girl decorate her own hotel room or did the coaches decorate a room knowing that she'd enter it?

Anyone that listens to the NCAA at this point is crazy. They're just yelling trying to get someone to believe they have any actual power at this point. Tell them to frick off and don't enable their bullshite inconsistent arse judgements.

My favorite was the men’s and women’s swimming & diving programs held year-end banquet on a required off day.

The decorations... (Of course with NIL it does not matter anymore)

It reads that someone associated with the University put them there. You would think the NCAA has better things to worry about than a shiny roll Tide banner.

That makes sense. When I first glanced at the topic, I thought they got mad because a high school girl got excited over visiting a potential college and decorated her own room.

So we can buy players, but can't decorate a hotel room on an official visit?

Men’s hoops had one Level 3, a complimentary admission was sold through a secondary marketplace without the player’s knowledge. Some sombeetch was given a free ticket then sold it for some quick cash

For that matter, what were the 'decorations'? The way it's worded, I'm expecting some banners and maybe a picture or two. But it's a hotel room; how much of that can the school reasonably do unless the school owns the hotel?

Maybe the NCAA is bent out of shape over some pamphlets and brochures being left out on the end tables.

They changed the rules on this a year ago. ON3 STROY

"Toward the end of 2023, the NCAA began to crack down on legislation for recruiting visits, stating that schools can no longer arrange photo shoots for prospects during unofficial visits. That’s not the only change being made.

On Thursday, 247Sports’ Andrew Ivins reported that the NCAA sent out an email stating that schools “can no longer decorate prospect’s hotel rooms on officials,” and added that “all cookie cakes and snacks must be handed to recruits in lobby.”

Often times recruits will take to social media to show off a spread of food and apparel that awaits them and their family upon entering their hotel rooms before making visits. That now looks to be the latest change being made by the NCAA."
