LOL, this is far from over but it's entertaining.

So, if they win the SECCG and BCSCCG then those count.

LOL. too funny, if anything I think this seems more like AU knowing trouble is probable

Actually, what this means is all you morons who thought someone was sitting on some big news were wrong. The NCAA made a decision based on ALL the evidence they have and Cam has been cleared. If this had been handled by everyone on here with "innocent until proven guilty" or even "I have some doubts, but let's see what happens" instead of "OMG DEATH PENALTY", the factor would be much lower. That being said,

EVERYONE IN HERE IS IN DENIAL.

IT'S OVER.

Look I know all of you want this to still continue, but trust me this will be the end of it. The NCAA will close out their case in short order and we will see you all next year with all our wins and awards from 2010....Ya its over

But reading that latter part makes it seem that the investigation is still open.

Whether Cam did anything wrong or not, is anyone actually that niave to think that Cam didn't know anything?

A few interesting things I take from the article (and yes, I know that the investigation continues and things could change in the future).

quote:

When a school discovers an NCAA rules violation has occurred, it must declare the student-athlete ineligible and may request the student-athlete’s eligibility be reinstated.
Does this mean that all of the stories about the NCAA telling AU that Cam needed to sit but being ignored can now be looked on as most likely not true?

quote:

In conjunction with the case, Auburn University has limited the access Newton’s father has to the athletics program
I guess this is the real reason that we haven't seen Cecil at any games since the end of October. I know the story was that he wasn't at homecoming because of a prior commitment to the church in Savannah, but I don't think he had been seen since - and I would guess this is why.

quote:

Based on the information available to the reinstatement staff at this time, we do not have sufficient evidence that Cam Newton or anyone from Auburn was aware of this activity, which led to his reinstatement. From a student-athlete reinstatement perspective, Auburn University met its obligation under NCAA bylaw 14.11.1. Under this threshold, the student-athlete has not participated while ineligible.”
So unless something comes out later that Cam or Auburn did in fact know about the PFP scheme, going on what they know now, all games this season should be safe in the record books.

Luckily, innuendo and conjecture don't hold much water.

Your quote says two things. Enforcement and reinstatement are two different things. Also, Cam may not have taken cash. But if it is found that AU and his father had dealings...

That gets Cam off the hook. It doesn't get Auburn off the hook. Lack of Institutional Control is in your future.

So Auburn found out about this yesterday?

Thus he was ruled ineligible.

Then he was reinstated a day later. Doesnt mean it's over. But believe what you want.
