He's got us in a 4 team pod where we would play the winner of the UofL/Arkansas (or VCU) game, not thrilled about that. Would like A&M's 3 seed pod in the West region.

With 12 or 13 SEC teams in, there will be a minimum of 3 SEC teams per bracket. While it’s mathematically possible to avoid SEC vs SEC in the opening weekend, Cal vs KY in the round of 32 is too juicy to not try and make it happen. Arky 11 and KY 3 in the same bracket will absolutely happen if at all possible…the committee isn’t stupid

That would be a crap situation all around. I’d still pull for the Hogs over the Cards but wouldn't look forward to the rematch that early in the tournament.

It's going to be a heck of a tournament without creating drama.

A&M will be lucky to get a six-seed. Three-seed? They blew that this week alone ...

So do you still believe A&M is worthy of a three seed? MSU had their way with them, and Tennessee beat them in their house. Does A&M have a shot against Auburn or Florida? Sorry, but there is a reason Buzz said too bad the season didn't end last week.

He could see what was coming.

A 3 seed is a top 12 team. They’ve shown that this season.

And yes, A&M has a team that can beat either of those teams, so yea, they have a shot. But we’re talking the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the rankings.

All your posts have the intelligence of someone that just started following college sports.

Do you honesty believe A&M can finish top twelve? They will be lucky to be that after this week. And they still have to play AU and FL. They have beaten NONE of the top teams in the SEC with the exception of Missouri

Kentucky beat them convincingly
Alabama definitely did
Tennessee beat them convincingly

Do you really think they have a shot at AU or FL? There is nothing to say they can even hang with the best in the SEC.

Yes

So because they will likely come up short against two of the best teams in the country means they’re not in the top 12. That does not follow

Kentucky beat them convincingly Alabama definitely did Tennessee beat them convincingly

All of these teams are very, very good. That does not mean there are 11 teams that much better than aTm.

Yes. They have a shot. They’ll likely lose but losses in those two games are far from indicative of a sub top 12 team.

Name 11 teams better than them.

Well, before this week they were somewhere around ten. Like I said, lucky to be twelve tomorrow. The loss to MSU (a blowout loss) is going to kill them in the rankings.

Going by BPI, they have the 4th toughest schedule in America and are 11th in SOR, which will be an important parameter come selection time.

They are very very good and are securely on the 3 line right now. At worst they’ll slip to the 4 line, but they shouldn’t assuming they hold serve in their remaining games.

9-9 in the conference

Not all 9-9 teams are created equal. LSU finished 9-9 the last year of Wade and got in the tourney (unfortunately without tPear) as a 6.

Last year LSU went 9-9, and couldn't see the NCAA tourney even with the Hubble Telescope.

Arkansas is already projected in. They not only don't need to win out, but just go 2-2.

Arkansas is on the bubble. They are projected to be the last SEC team in. Going 2-2 might now be enough to automatically get in. 3-1 should be fine, but if you go 2-2, I think you need to win at least 1 in the SEC tournament to make it.

Gonzaga is going to win the computer trickers national championship this year. 10 in the net and 11 on Kenpom. Insane.

That's frickin absurd. Prime example of how net has way too much efficiency in it and not enough results.

I'd rather be in Duke's bracket in the East as #2. We're currently projected to be a #1 in the West and probably playing Gonzaga in Seattle in round 2.

Hell, it isn't unreasonable that Gonzaga winds up in the first four at the rate they're going.

A&M falls all the way down to NET 18 in the latest. Not looking good for a Top 3 seed at all. Maybe Top 4 but they appear to be in the start of a free fall - lose to Vandy as well this week and they will fall even further.

Need to win against Vandy before the next two inevitable losses

NET is not the be all and end all. It doesn’t weigh résumé as heavily as it should. Rather, it still too heavily weighs efficiency.

It’s a useful tool for the committee, but they don’t determine seeding exclusively with it.
