Hogs tack one on to make it 4-1 but Kozeal thrown out at home. And he was already limping after being HBP earlier in the inning. Really limping now.

Wernes potentially cost us another run with a stupid send from 3rd base.

A Miami pitcher threw a curveball that hit the backstop, one of the worst pitches I’ve ever seen. A few pitches later, Troy hits a HR to take a 7-6 lead.

Personally I would have kept Tate in there.

Looks like UK will get WVU. Opened up a 10-4 lead in the 8th.

“They were 7-7 in the last 14 heading into post season play, and that was after sweeping Oakland the last series of the season. They got swept by a terrible LSU team, run ruled twice, and lost 3 out of 4 to Duke to start the season.

However, the back half wasn’t some tear like you suggested. AU was the 2nd tournament team win of their entire season. It’s embarrassing, frankly”

The point being, they are not the same team that lost three games to LSU & Duke.
They are a team that has won nine straight games.
Yes the Cinderella shoes may go dark at midnight but right now they are a team playing much better than their record indicates.
Your attitude shows that you do not understand Baseball Regionals. In a short weekend anything can happen. As a life long State fan & alum I can tell you we have experienced gut wrenching regional losses at home when we were the best team. In particular, 1984, 1989, 1992, 2003, 2016 just to name a few. Nothing embarrassing about it because that is the nature of baseball. It can be a very cruel sport.

Looking like every SEC team in the tournament will play in a regional final but UTK.

Well done!

Much better early round result than basketball (I am still shame).

Not sure what's been up with Ruiz lately. I had more confidence in him at the plate than everyone else, but that has changed in recent weeks.

Strikeouts and ground outs.

Hogs bases loaded for the 3rd inning in a row but GIDP to end the inning. Still only 4-1. Would be nice to do what OU is currently doing but alas.

4-1 Hogs bottom 6

Think you’re giving way too much credit to MKE and I’m not sure you understand how bad AU is at underperforming. They went 2 and Q in their own regional in 2023. They’ve given up 13 runs to the 3 and 4 seed.

You know who else was on a winning streak coming into Regionals? UGA and GT…the 2 teams right above AU in the seedlings (and 2 of the closest geographically as a side anecdote). You think either of those teams gives up 13 runs in consecutive games to start the regional against the 3 and 4 seed if they played MKE and NCState? No, MKE isn’t the issue. That’s the point. Lots of 4 seeds were on winning steaks coming into regionals…that’s how college baseball works (note: Alabama state had won 8 straight before Bama beat them 21-3…winning streaks against bad competition don’t mean a lot).

Right on cue, Northeastern hits a solo shot and pulls within 4-2.

I mean Arkansas and Auburn can not biff the landings. OU is marked safe for now.
