re: NCAA Baseball Super Regionals - Monday - Tide, Sooners punch Tickets to Omaha!

Would you rather be in OU’s shoes or Bama’s shoes today (rather be up 7 in the 3rd inning or up 5 in the 8th)?
Think there is probably a consensus answer, but curious if anyone disagrees.

AU given 2 complete gifts in the 9th and still couldn’t tie it. Embarrassing

KY was literally 1 terrible choke away from being in the CWS. They should be hosting Cal Poly right now.

Speaking of things to question, how dumb or intellectually dishonest does one have to be to claim “Israel intel about nukes” when Israel wasn’t even at the negotiating table when Iran directly told US officials they had enough uranium for over 10 nuclear bombs? :casty:

OU, your season is on the line. You have to wear that inside pitch and take your base. Soft

Just need a wild pitch…come on pitcher, you can do it!

These regionals have been gloriously entertaining. Hate Kentucky lost yesterday in the fashion they did, but man has this been entertaining. Seems like more games have come down to extras or at least the 9th inning then typical.

You sure Big 10 has 9 wins? I’m showing they only had 8, unless you’re already counting a win for USC tonight.

How fricking overrated was ucla? got carried hard in rpi because they beat 3 sec teams, but they have not looked all that great in their regional.
They should be tied or losing right now. Umps saved them in the 2nd with the bases loaded on a bad call at 1st that would have scored a run and kept the inning alive.

UCLA absolutely
Should be tied or losing this game right now. Umps totally hosed St. Mary’s on a call at 1st with the bases loaded. Runner was clearly safe, and they got it wrong twice (runner shouldn’t have slid, but he still clearly beat the throw).

Nah, they were playing the home team in the regional. I stated it correctly. If they were playing one of the other 2 visiting teams, it wouldn’t have been as bad.

Crashing out on what you thought was a bad call down 5-1 late in an elimination game would be pretty bad. Doing it as the best player on your team while up 5-1 in an elimination game is pure idiocy.
Is it that hard to have some awareness of the situation going into the at bat? That said, kid seemed to handle the aftermath pretty decently…that was a tough “perp walk” in front of the home crowd, home dugout, etc.

Congrats to Bama, not sure how many regionals they’ve hosted/won, pretty sure they won’t get beat twice. Good hosts, havnt heard anything negative from friends that went (that River restaurant looks good).
I see what you did there. So far, it’s working, and OSU definitely has the bats to beat Bama twice in a row. How Bama won a game yesterday with a -6 error differential is still a mystery.

Saban would be disappointed in your 9 game stance.
Did I miss something? Are all SEC fans supposed to agree with Saban?
I also wonder if Saban would still agree with his earlier stance after watching the advantage the top Big10 teams have in the postseason due to playing against very few NFL draft picks all season.

Certainly a possibility. Or he could get beat up in a 9 game SEC schedule like half the SEC QBs did last year when it was only 8. Sankey should be fired

Think you’re giving way too much credit to MKE and I’m not sure you understand how bad AU is at underperforming. They went 2 and Q in their own regional in 2023. They’ve given up 13 runs to the 3 and 4 seed.
You know who else was on a winning streak coming into Regionals? UGA and GT…the 2 teams right above AU in the seedlings (and 2 of the closest geographically as a side anecdote). You think either of those teams gives up 13 runs in consecutive games to start the regional against the 3 and 4 seed if they played MKE and NCState? No, MKE isn’t the issue. That’s the point. Lots of 4 seeds were on winning steaks coming into regionals…that’s how college baseball works (note: Alabama state had won 8 straight before Bama beat them 21-3…winning streaks against bad competition don’t mean a lot).

I couldn’t have told you anyone’s, including AU’s. I watched the 1min & 13 sec video followed by 30 seconds of writing the post.
Do tell what the going rate is for rent for spending 2 minutes doing something that AU fans weren’t intellectually able to do themselves?

A Miami pitcher threw a curveball that hit the backstop, one of the worst pitches I’ve ever seen. A few pitches later, Troy hits a HR to take a 7-6 lead.
