Need to potentially re-evaluate pitching coach, but there’s enough younger talent in the squad to build from and hit the portal hard for that bullpen.
I want to be frustrated but we were last four in and we’re playing in a Regional final. Mingione has coached the Cats to no less than a Regional final the last four seasons. Anybody calling for his head is a moron if you’ve been watching Kentucky Baseball for more than half a decade.

I'd say no. The better team just had their best ace and best reliever lined up ... and showed the difference and exposed what we've all known about this team.
We've got one starting pitcher that needs a TON of rest between starts ... and an iffy bullpen. One closer that also can't go more than once a weekend. And we're just BAD on fundamentals. Have been all year.
This result is not surprising. But look, they're down 5-1. Its not embarrassing. Its just an indictment of the Mangione system. He's as good as we've had in quite a long time ... but he's got his limitations.
I didn't expect any different tonite. WVU is just better. Kentucky stole one from Wake and one from them. The bill came due when they couldn't get three outs last nite.
