It's just fine LSU crying again

Yes we need some who aren’t lawyers and insurance agents during the week and deciding game-changing calls for 3 hours on a Saturday.

There is nothing we can do. You just have to hope they don’t hurt your team at a critical time.
The problem is the cream does not rise to the top in that “industry” if you can call it that. Officials don’t make anything at the peewee all the way up to high school, yet they get yelled at all levels all the same. There are guys who would make excellent officials but will not deal with the berating for some side money.
You have less and less people who even want to entertain making it a job for couple hundred bucks on fridays and it’s not like you can work your way up and make it a career even at the SEC level so why bother?

Have you been watching the World Series? MLB umpires are just as bad.

Post this to the LSU board where all you losers can cry about officiating. The rest of us will man up and just play the games

I agree. Its just hit or miss.
Posting this chart not as any proof of bias rather it just shows the yards differences. One would need more detailed data to see when and what type the penalties happen and how impacting they were. If you have a delay of game thats clear cut. But it counts as a penalty. So we’d need a breakdown to really decipher what this means.
But here’s the chart and I wouldn’t read too much into it.

We get flagged more than anyone else and it is hilarious how much people want to bitch about this. With all of the fricking things that are wrong with college athletics, officiating is way down on the list.

Yup. And I think most of OU’s penalties were well earned too. Our problem has not been penalties it’s been OC and QB and Oline. Lots of backups had to play and that causes more flags because they are raw and make way more mistakes.

It's bad. I know I'm biased when I watch ole Miss games but when I watch other games without any emotion in it, the officiating is objectively terrible. Way too much money in this sport to have refs I would have been pissed about reffing my hs games.

Coach’s challenge system.
First failed challenge: 5 yard penalty
Second failed challenge: 10 yard penalty
Third failed challenge: 15 yard penalty
Fourth, fifth, sixth failed challenge: 15 yards and a timeout
If you are out of timeouts, you don’t have a challenge.

The refs on the field are one set of issues, but for my taste it’s the replay officials that are the bigger issue. Guys missing a call on the field is one thing, but when it’s replayed and still blatantly missed you gotta think outside forces are involved.

Only the highest graded get SEC and Big10 games
This is probably a pipe dream unless the conferences break off a new league, but otherwise lots of legitimately good ideas in your post.
