Per ESPN Article:

quote:

Even Vanderbilt coach Tim Corbin said that the Wolfpack had "some magic with them."

The magic ended Friday. Earlier in the day, ESPN's Ryan McGee reported that Wolfpack starting second baseman JT Jarrett and reliever Evan Justice were out due to COVID-19-related issues. A source described Jarrett as "no longer with the team," while Justice was still in Omaha but placed in quarantine. ESPN first learned of a positive test concerning Jarrett on Friday morning.

Any insight about this? Why is he no longer with the team? It would appear this is more than just a positive test result.

These kids all had the freedom of choice. So did Vanderbilt, MSU & Texas.

Not all choices have the same consequences. You can stand tall and be proud you exercised your freedom of choice. Unfortunately, in this case, the choices had tragic consequences not only for them, but for their team mates.

Play stupid games, ...

Yep I have exact answer for you. Covid positive and affected too many of his team mates to be able to compete, opponent moves on. Next competitor

4 of 6 NC State positive test were from vaccinated players. Yet Vandy does not test because they are all vaccinated.

JT Jarret was sent home because he tested positive. Justice was his roommate and he initially tested positive but subsequently tested negative 2 times and was not sent home. Yesterday when the NCAA pulled State's non vaxxed players off the field an hour before the game they were told that if they all tested negative they would be allowed to play today.
After the b team almost and really should have beaten Rocker, they couldn't take a chance and after the game they tested the players who played in the game. Last night the result came back and 4 were positive. All of the no vaxxed tested negative.

More vaccinated players tested positive than unvaccinated players

Vandy didn't get tested because they were all vaccinated but NC St vaccinated players were still required to test. All logic went out the window here.

All 64 participating schools were given the guidelines before the start of the tournament. Vandy played it safe, 63 teams gambled. Unfortunate for NC State and all college baseball fans but they were aware of the rules beforehand. Personally, I would prefer for the VandyBoys to lose a game played vs getting a forfeiture and auto advancement and every Vandy fan I know personally feels the same way.

Let's just hope MSU and Texas don't encounter the same problem and get to play their game.

Seems like a coach would look at the protocol and force the entire team to get vaccinated.

Vandy played it safe,

More vaccinated players tested positive for NC State than non vaccinated. That fact should 100% lead to Vanderbilt having every damn person associated with them tested. Guess what, they won’t test a single one.

The fact you see nothing wrong with this statement shows how far we’ve fallen as a nation.

They knew the mandate, same as all other teams: 100% vaccination rate of all players , staff, etc exempts a team from testing. Vandy getting blamed here for following the guidelines smh

Then if Vandy is so holier than thou, they should volunteer to be tested in the name of safety before the game Monday.

highlighting consequences of actions that emerge solely from nonsensical rules made by flawed principles doesn’t seem like the kind of firm footing I’d like to plant my flag; personally
