The land runs did not replace Indian reservations. They merely opened the unassigned lands to settlers.

And as the article states, the true crime was the forceful removal of the tribes from the southeast.

Winners win, losers lose.

Reality the travesty was done before Oklahoma was an Indian Territory. The Indians were driven, by foot, from SEC territory

Oklahoma was a desirable place to drive them, because there was not much there and no one really wanted that land. The five "civilized" tribes were provided specific land. That has not been taken away from them with the land run. If you had not allowed them to be driven from SEC territory, all the way from the Carolinas, across GA, Alabama, MS, then you would have no soap box.

What was done was not wrong, it was very, very wrong. It was inhumane, it was one of many low-points in a long list of ways that the Native Americans have been treated. I could bring quotes from people who's families were driven out of SEC territory, if it made a difference.

Take you venom out on the SEC states that stood in total depraved silence as the Native American's were driven like cattle to a places not their own in Oklahoma Territory.

I especially find it interesting that the people from the states that allowed the Indians be orignally driven from, so they could be the first theifs of those tribal lands, point fingers at others. Speaking to you people in states like Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. Really pretty sick, imo
