1. Alabama - 6 (1992, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017)
2. Florida - 3 (1996, 2006, 2008)
3. LSU - 2 (2003, 2007)
t4. Auburn - 1 (2010)
t4. Tennessee - 1 (1998)

Three is the correct answer per the NCAA 1983, 1993, 2004... (you got the years wrong)

We did not win the NC in 2004 (Should have, missing ring) As long as Alabama claims 1941, I will claim 1983 and 93...
EDIT: Auburn acknowledges these teams as NC

Seems arbitrary

Using 1998 as it is both a defining moment (the first BCS) and a greater duration than using the first CFP.
