College Baseball is not a big sport. It's regional and loses money. It's football and men's basketball and then everything else.

Why are the Gumps so upset by a factual thread?

College baseball is fun. LSU is really, really good at it (maybe the best). They pour in a ton of resources to stay at the top, whereas other schools in this league haven't even historically offered athletic scholarships to their baseball players.

We know in most metrics it's been surpassed by soccer and one or more women's sports, and commands single-digit representation on most polls. When MLB is removed from that equation, college baseball is insignificant.

That's why it's almost impossible to watch a television broadcast, game scores, updates, and live advanced stats that are essentially ubiquitous for other sports.

And that's okay.

I don't know why you don't embrace it for what it is (like Auburn does with equestrian) and stop wishing it was in the same league as Kentucky basketball or Alabama football.

It's okay to just be who you are.

You people are reeling.

At a national level, no one remembers or cares who won a conference championship. The goal is to win a national championship, and Alabama hasn't done so in quite a while.

LSU has won .271 of their conference football and men’s basketball games over the past season.

If you want to see what a death spiral looks like check out LSU.

Like I said, the Gumps have gone from celebrating national championships to getting excited about other schools’ regular season losses.

Oof.
