I had fun partying with SCar in the 2002 CWS. It's amazing how much more fun it was at Rosenblatt than it is at TD Ameritrade

I dont know enough about Ray Tanner as a person to completely judge him, but most people that have the success he did would struggle dealing with being this poor of an athletic director. It's one thing as a former back to back college world series champion coach to not have the best eye for basketball coaches but for the baseball program to dwindle on your watch is surprising. Meyer faked a heart attack twice when he stopped winning.

He probably gets off on it. “I’m the only one who was good enough to win here.”

Would you bench a poor performing fielder for poor play? Then how do you think you have done as AD?

Ray got us over the hump, but he's not the only great baseball coach SC has had. Richardson and Raines were also both very successful here.

SC should be a top-5 college baseball job. Now, it's bottom of the league. That's 100% on Ray Tanner, the AD.

I get promoting Holbrook. It made a ton of sense, it just didn't work. The Mark Kingston hire was what really sunk the program. He never should have been hired, but worse, Ray took too long to fire him. He also has the personality of a Walmart sack.

Mainieri was a head scratcher, and clearly hasn't worked. Programs have DNA and the right fit is essential. Mainieri doesn't fit, at all.

It was like 2 old men talking about skiing when they were younger and then they decide they could still do it. Then after some broken bones and bruises they realize it's a young person's thing that has passed them by. That was how that stupid conversation between the two went. Should have stopped at "remember when".
