I'm the farthest thing from a ole miss fan. I live in a Hugh ole miss area up in olive branch ms. Since I have to keep up with the in's and out of ole miss football (lord help me). But I am not really impressed with CHF. Huston Nutt set up Ole Miss to win with the recruiting class of all times. CHF fell into best opportunity possible. Ole Miss has one more chance next year before he loses the best recruiting class in ole miss history. The ole miss will have the same problem that most SEC schools have replacing a veteran QB. Last years recruiting class wasn't stellar. A couple of good guys but nothing to really write home about. Freeze is not replacing the guys he's about to lose after next year.

wat? I'm no ole miss apologist, but Houston Nutt was a horrible recruiter and didn't leave Ole Miss in a great position whatsoever.

I've seen some bad posts, but this one might be the worst I have literally ever seen. On any message board.

Houston Nutt is a barely functional retard that has nothing to do with OM's current success.

The biggest issues facing Ole Miss are:

Offense
- Oline: Don't have the talent across the entire front to control the LOS in the running game.
- RB: they need some bigger backs that have the vision to find/hit holes or make one.

Defense
- LInebackers: the need big athletic types that can take on/shed mauling olines and stuff the run.
- Dline: just need some more big bodies to plug & play throughout a mauling game.

Nut could coach but couldn't recruit worth shite. That's what got him in trouble. He did OK his first couple of years using Orgeron's recruits.

Sorantable, I agree with your thesis. There universe you've won. Good D + good run game = championship, Good D + no run game = good team.

I think he wants to be balanced but the OLine isn't good enough to do that.

Lack of a running game has been the problem this year. Mix in some success running the ball and I think a couple of your games that were either close or a loss are bigger wins in your favor.

So what your telling me is that bring in the older brother nekdiche(Sp) didn't help with the lil brother? if I'm not mistaken Nutt started that one. Recruiting takes time you just can't up and go after it, well you can but 95 percent of the time you will fail. I didn't think Nutt is a very good coach but what I was trying to say he set up ole miss pretty well the year he was fired. Coach Freeze benefited from It. Last year, Ole miss If I remember correctly was in the twenty range in recruiting classes. Kind of large drop off from the year before.

Hotty Toddy hits the nail on the head. In this division, this conference, you get those 15 round fights every wkend & attrition due to injuries is the norm. Coach Miles had built up a nice edge in depth & then had his legs cut out from under him when those 13-15 players left early these past 2 yrs. Combined with the number of seniors who left while & LSU has a lot talent still, we now lack the depth we had built up. Talent can carry a team & is necessary, but so too is depth. Particularly in the lines & RB positions. Take any of those pretty boy teams in the Big 12 & make them fight every wkend, Sept thru Dec, and by the end of the season they'd be beat to a pulp.

Denzel wanted to transfer before Freeze came in and would have if Boone had kept Nutt. Nutt decimated any semblance of depth we had because of his four recruiting classes half of those kids never played a down of football for Ole Miss and the other half were either suspended or in academic trouble.

You guys aren't seriously trying to refute that post about Nutt, are you? I thought it was understood that that was incredibly dumb and not worthy of any kind of take down or retort.
