Muschamp will not be fired this year but Ray Tanner will be stepping down and taking on another role in fundraising until his contract runs out.

Caslen will get his own AD in place. Muschamp gets one more year then we go from there. We'll know which way we are headed by midseason next year either way.

I love Booms energy. I think he’s good for South Carolina. Damn good defensive mind. He just needs a hot, innovative OC and he'll have SC competing again.

Boom does have good energy and he is a hard worker but he can't seem to get the breaks to go his way (with the exception of UGA) and I can't really get good info on whether or not BMac will be retained. May be too early in the process of what is happening over there at the moment.

Neither can I get any sort of confirmation on Muschamp reducing his payout to get another year .... but I wouldn't do it if I were him.

He may just be better suited to be a DC .... although we've had our issues there.

We lose a lot but we're still very young. Some of the issues are coaching, play calling, execution (poorly executed by young players), and injuries. Same old same old.

One important thing is he has not lost this team. They're still working hard and they wanna win. It's just tough to put a finger on.

I was pulling for Boom this year but he's just not getting it done. He's got one more year.

In the meantime, Ray is stepping down. I'm sure we'll be hearing all the details soon enough. It's past time for him to go.

Why fire him? He beat a Top 5 team on the road. The reality is, USCe is a 7-5 ceiling team at best. Who would they get better than Boom?

This is such a tired take.

Just because that’s our average doesn’t mean we should strive for more? Is he going 7-5 this year? If progress isn’t being made, why accept it? Did LSU accept it with Miles? Did Georgia accept it with Richt? Different levels obviously, but same concept.

This is a program that hired Holtz and Spurrier and people love to say “who would come here”

fricking tons of people that are better than the garbage sack we have now. We just need a competent AD to find one and not settle for the first safe thing he sees to get it over with.

We hired an AD that has to have "on the job" training....he hires a football coach that has already proven he can't coach elite talent and that coach hires assistants that need..."on the job" training. This "on the job" training crap has to stop. I would also say the S&C coach is not getting it done because the injuries are off the chart each year he has been there. That has been an overlooked "major" problem with this staff. Alabama seems to have the same problem, they just have better back ups. This Alabama "Saban" mindset is not working for South Carolina.

Sounds eerily similar to Les's last year or so at LSU

Then you either have incompetent leadership or lack the funds and will to make a change.
Enjoy your position next to Vandy in the East and an annual arse kicking from Clemson.

History is repeating itself. Carolina is making the same mistake we did.

Muschamp is a stand up, honest guy who builds programs compliantly and passionately. But he has had plenty of opportunities to prove he can be a winner and hasn’t done it. SC needs to rip the band-aid off.

Keeping and supporting one guy only helps your program. Even if they suck. At least they will be consistent.
