Would love to see how many SC fans talked shite about their new coach.

Back then, we were hoping Muschamp would come on as DC.

I don't think many held hard feelings for Muschamp.

Zook has to go down as the worst. Spurier fired him from the Florida staff and then his buddy Foley hired him to run the show. That was a joke. I'm surprised Foley kept his job. You know Spurrier had a good laugh.

This isn't true, Zook was never fired from the staff. He was demoted from DC, but was later promoted by Spurrier to associate head coach. He was re-named defensive coordinator in '95 but left for the Steelers shortly after. His leaving for Pittsburgh led us to Bob Stoops for DC.

Zook as HC wasn't terrible, just not great. He was 16-8 in SEC play.

Funny how public perception bastardizes actual facts.

I can't forget Dubose either. This guy was literally lucky to not be teaching Drivers ed somewhere.

I was a TA for his cousin, Jamie Dubose, when he was teaching drivers ed at Prattville in 2005-6.

I'm talking about a hire that looks like total crap at the time.

I think people are missing this part of the question. Dooley ended up being a horrible hire, but people forget that Kiffen put UT in a huge bind by leaving so late in the "season". It's not like Kiffen was out at the end of the reg. season in November and UT had the entire month of December to find a coach. Kiffen unexpectedly left in mid-January.

I'm not saying that he was their 1st, 2nd or even 7th choice, but the Muschamp hire just seems awful. USC has known since October that they needed a new HC. Muschamp completely flamed out at UF and he was last seen costing his team by going out of control on the sidelines in the Iron Bowl. Unless everyone but Muschamp turned them down, I don't seem why you wouldn't just give a young up and comer a chance over a guy that will almost assuredly struggle

Dubose...Shula...Price. Take your pick

I don't think you can say Price. People were pretty excited about him.

I am not going to say anything. Muschamp beats Aggy dick in more often than not. Kinda scared to be honest.

Dooley will always and forever be the correct answer to any question regarding the worst hire in SEC history.

Wrong.

Zook's biggest problem was that he wasn't named Steve Spurrier

When Stallings was hired it was not overwhelming hire, but he was very successful.

Boom may have learned some lessons at Florida that will help him succeed this time. If not, he will be fired.

That's the worst part of this deal for SC. They are on the hook to Muschamp for over $10 mil as of today no matter what.

fricking Muschamp. How could the AD have fricked this up worse?

This is true. Zook had strenghts, even in Illinois he had his moments. Tough to follow Spurrier but he isn't a bad coach.

If he really hired Kurt Roper as his O.C. He's learned nothing
