I don't understand that logic, at all. If he takes a mid-level HC right now, and fails, he will never get a chance at a HC gig again. If he takes a high profile DC job, and succeeds, he can get an upper echelon Big 5 power school HC job in three or four years.

Have you guys ever been a supervisor before? Once you have managed the whole aspects of a situation (a department head), it is tough to take something on a substantially lower level - regardless of money.

I've taken less money to move into a higher level position. It happens because once you taste it and call the shots, you want to keep doing it. It is very hard to answer to others that you may perceive to be on the same level or even at level below your expertise.

Playing devil's advocate, would you rather be the VP of Coke, or the President of RC Cola?

Muschamp knows that his rep as a HC is not good after UF, and probably can't afford for his DC reputation to be destroyed by coaching under Gus. It would be a smart move to go to Houston if the job is offered.

Not sure if troll or just too stupid to understand a ball control offense that is run from a spread formation.

I think both.

That will go over as well as Tuberville did at Texas Tech"

Wing-T Formation =/= Spread Formation

PSA: Auburn does not run a spread offense

Is that not what Gus did when he left AU. He went to Ark State and got him right back to the top. Did not seem to hurt him and Houston seems to be a better gig than Ark State.

Comparing Gus' career to CWM who has been at major programs or the NFL his entire career is insane. I will throw a few emoticons and that will make it seem quippy.

Gus wasnt a failed HC going into Arkansas State and he knew he needed HC experience to make it to the big time as a HC...Gus is more like McElwain

ok you guys win, but for the record the only difference is Gus left a program headed downward as an OC where Will is leaving as a HC.

But as others want to point out CWM has a better resume so why in the world would he want to go back in to a DC role when he is so great that he can demand a HC coaching somewhere again.

But really no reason to argue AU fans are starting to sound like Texas fans with Saban. That it is the best situation he could hope for. Good luck.

I have no idea where or who Muschamp coaches for, and I have no clue who becomes AU's next DC. I merely was responding to your post, it was a rather silly comparison.

Yes because I sort of predicted it.
Excellent prediction, BTW.
