When Muschamp was announced as the new HC at Florida, I posted on here that he would be the second coming of Ron Zook.

I took a lot of heat, especially from Florida fans, for posting it. Even some LSU fans on here who have an infatuation with Muschamp were pretty vocal in their disagreement with me about Willy M.

Muschamp is a rah-rah guy who makes a decent #2 or #3 coach on a team with a solid head coach. Even when he was with LSU under Saban, I always thought he was overrated. Saban was the defensive coordinator, not Muschamp. Muschamp just had the title.

How do Florida fans on here feel about Willy now?

I thought our defenses in 06 and 07 were pretty good but maybe that was Tubs calling the shots.

He needs time - he should learn in the job. He''l mature - remember how young he is.

He took over a team that is suited for what he wants to do, battled injuries, and he isn't finished with his first season yet.

You're jumping the gun.

I 'jumped the gun' on the day he was announced as the head coach.

IMO, Muschamp is all hat, no cattle.

He inherited a soft team that didn't fit his offensive or defensive style. I'll wait until next year when he gets another recruiting class(his 1st full class mind you) and year in his S&C program to see if there is any improvement before I begin to judge him as a HC.

Why?

Did you believe, before the season started, that Florida would not win a game in the month of October?

Or were your expectations so low for Muschamp that you expected Florida to struggle to get to be bowl eligible?

How long before you know? Two seasons? Three?

With the talent WM inherited there is no way Florida should be where it's at this season. WM spends more time screaming at refs than he does coaching his team during a game. That's a sure sign of an immature coach.

Texas football fans are probably thanking their lucky stars WM left and never became their HC.

What I still don't understand is why Florida had to settle for someone who has no head coaching experience?

Florida's program over the past few years is one of the elite programs who could/should have been able to cherry pick almost any experienced HC and not have to take a chance on a DC with no HC experience. (That's a compliment to Florida in case you missed it.)

I believed we would beat Auburn and Georgia. If not for the injury to Brantley, I feel these would have happened.

I get what you are trying to say, but I don't think you are saying it correctly. He took a team that is ILL suited for what he wants to do. He wants to run a Pro offense but does not have the man power to do so.

He inherited numbers/stars, not players.

I could give you a screwdriver and tell you to go fix a car. Even if it's the BEST SCREWDRIVER ON THE MARKET the car won't get fixed without all the other tools you need.

We have 5 stars out the arse, but few players for our system.

you are trying way to hard.

give the guy a few seasons not a partial one before you make knee jerk reactions. if they turn out next year and smoke LSU, I would hope you have the grapefruit to man up and say you were wrong.

but somehow i doubt that.

You're talking about Muschamp and Zook and HC's, that's a full team, not just the D.

If Brantley was 100%, I feel we would have beat AUB and UGA and would be 6-2 right now. We lost to AUB by 9 and to UGA by 4.
