Meh.

If you really wanted him to coach the final game - then don’t fire him before that.

Did the backup / starting QB get hurt for the season, the one hurt dancing in the hotel? Would he have made any difference these past few games?

Mullen doesn't like the guy.

Threw the kid to Kirby and UGA on a platter and never played him afterwards except for final 3 plays vs Samford.

Should have never left Starkville

I thought that at the time. He seemed to have it going pretty well in Starkville.

Florida is always going to run coaches off. They have been doing it forever. Spurrier had great success there but he flamed out after so many years, same with Urban.

Florida runs off coaches because Bear himself said UF was a sleeping giant and the right coach could win and win big there. You should be able to recruit a top 5 class and win 10 games a year without breaking a sweat. It’ll take few years to catch UGA and Bama but a good coach could do it. I wouldn’t settle for mediocrity if I was Florida either. No reason to.

Depends on how it was presented.

I think Muschamp left the same way. Was fired after USC, refused to coach the last game.

Muschamp stayed and even did the coaching show afterwards.

I don't know why nobody would listen but Mullen was always a fraud. 4 usually bad g5s OOC and Kentucky every year at Miss State plus massively increased spending from what previous coaches enjoyed. Him winning 7 to 8 games a year in Starkville was never the accomplishment that it was made out to be.

People who didn’t pay attention don’t realize that Dan had like one or two wins total against ranked SEC West teams when he was at Starkville.

Because all coaches at MSU have the lowest of low bars, everyone thought he was lighting the world on fire because he found a way to pull off that 10-2 2014 season.

He has always been arse. He struck gold with Dak that one season and yet still managed a losing record with Dak against his instate rival.

He is, was and always be a s*t coach.

But then he started showing his arse, starting riots at midfield, etc.

Yeah that had to be real nail in his coffin. What a bozo

Meh.

If you want me gone, I'll take my leave.

Nothing wrong with that.

He didn’t seem to give a shite before he was fired. Can’t imagine he’d try any harder after the fact. He probably would have sauntered out onto the field in full Darth Vader garb.

If your work came up to me and told me I was fired and I knew I had a guaranteed salary thru it how would you react? I can tell you I certainly wouldn't be kind to them.

Wrong. Muschamp wasn’t asked to coach anyone games. Of course Bobo didn’t do any better. Glad he is having great success at Auburn. Oh wait.

From recent results, it's apparent the players have quit playing for the guy so it feels like the best solution.

Never mind Dan, will his wife make out with the players for the FSU game?

Why would Florida want him to. You can only fire him once

When Geoff Collins left MSU as our DC for Florida, Mullen said, and I quote "The grass is not always greener"

Then he did the same exact thing and found out it was true
