Don't recall Mullen almost losing to App State at home when vastly out talenting them either.

Miss State has been as historically bad as Vandy. Just because it nullifies your argument doesn't make it less true. Any Sec ranking all time will have Miss State and Vandy last. So you saying one is more impressive, though doing less, verse worse competition...is simply baffling and makes no logical sense.

He was in the West during the worst time possible. Occasional hiccup at Auburn and the decline at LSU but there were several years when almost anyone could have won the West. He had a tough row to hoe. But, overall, I think he probably won games he should and lost to way more talented teams. South Alabama was a debacle and inexcusable but most teams he won games he should win.

We understand. You want your new HC to lead you out of the wilderness. No one is saying it won't happen. For the first time in his career as HC, Mullen now has the resources to make it happen. What State fans and other observers have been trying to communicate since the hire: Mullen won't take you to the top without drastic changes in his overall approach, including but not limited to lazy recruiting, starting upperclassmen ahead of more talented underclassmen, calling the same unsuccessful plays ad nauseam and exhibiting a total lack of willingness to win the big game. Does his transition to fertile recruiting grounds suddenly transform him into a HC without those hardwired traits? How will that attitude stack up against the new energy in Athens?

We are currently 22nd in Recruiting and 15th in star rating. Not great check back in December then again in February. We have to land a top 10 class this year, and I don’t know if it’s possible.

I always felt like we performed slightly better than Vegas said we would year to year. An upset every other year, but all the "almost beat em" games were frustrating. I am not taking anything away from what Mullen did, but I could see the frustration on his face in the last couple of yrs

Eta: maybe it's my frustration projected onto Mullen

Florida sucked before Mullen and will suck with him. Face it. It hurts. But accept it and everything will be better.

Mullen took chicken shite and made chicken salad at Mississippi State. That program has always been a doormat and was a mess before he came in. Yet he had them in contention for an SEC title a few years and took them to a bowl game every season but his first. He will do well at Florida.

Problem is that it is chicken salad. It's about as exciting as Luke warm potatoe soup.
