In basketball, yeah.

Do you think an SEC football team who went 4-4 in SEC play would win 4 games in an 64 team CFP to make it to a CFP Final 4.

No, I missed that you were talking football. My bad.

Basketball is definitely the hardest. LSU has made it to the final 4 a few times and great 8 but couldn't close the deal. Unless you are far superior than any other team in the country, there are too many variables that can trip you up. However, sometimes even the best loses. The team that comes to mind for me is 1983 Houston Phi Slama Jama who lost in final to NC State. I have no doubt in my mind that Houston would win 9 out of 10 times but didn't when it counted most.

Six straight games without having an off night in a two week period. It is a lot harder to win a NC or even making a Final 4.

It's apparently hard enough that schools feel the need to brag when they finish in 4th place. I don't see how that isn't just as pathetic as bragging "we made the title game in football" but lost. Unless you win the title, it doesn't matter. Guess it's a loser's mentality thing.
