Just because you losers can't capitalize on your one decent decade in your programs history isn't a knock on Auburn? That's a stupid take. We've had a couple down seasons mess up the curve.

As far as overall record, do you really want me to post State's OOC opponents over the last decade? Y'all wouldn't have missed bowl games multiple times if y'all didn't play a clown schedule with 4 gimme wins every year, and even then y'all still managed to get embarrassed in several of those games. Y'all fricking lost to South Alabama at home, that's the level of program you are. Auburn has never and will never lose to those types of programs, seems like State annually at least ends of in a shootout with one of these level of teams.

The SEC literally made a rule saying everybody has to schedule at least one real OOC every season, and y'all still do the absolute least by scheduling BYU

I'll give Mullen his credit, he was genius in the way he did his scheduling to create a false sense of accomplishment around your program.

What amazes me is the grown children who do this over kids playing a sport in the first place, most of which never attended the university.

I guess it is congrats for picking out the correct shirt at walmart they crave.

Because Mullen is a better coach than Gus and Chizik.

It is unrealistic for every fan base to have a "title or bust" mentality in College football. Miss State has historically been the worst or second worst program in the conference.

They deserve to celebrate rising above that.

This was my point, exactly. I never said anything about winning titles, or becoming a national power. I said the truth, we don't suck anymore, and as a life long MSU fan, that is something to celebrate. It is so hard to completely change the perception of a program, and whether some on here will admit it or not, we have done just that.

Ole Miss fans are delusional and refuse to accept what they truly are. MSU fans are realistic, understand what we are and what needs to be done to change that perception. 15 years ago, the only difference between MSU and Vanderbilt was the average salary of the alumni base. Today, MSU has risen far above Vandy and the rest of the cellar dwellers, squarely into the middle of the pack. You have to start somewhere, to climb the mountain you have to take it step by step, you can't just take a helicopter to the peak and say you climbed it, but don't tell Ole Miss that.

Accomplishments are relative, and what MSU accomplished in the last decade is something to celebrate, and a foundation to build on even more. Don't tell me not to celebrate where we are and what our program has become, you weren't there in 2004 when we hired the Green Bay Packers RB Coach as our head coach, you didn't watch us lose to Maine on homecoming, you didn't sit through 6 straight seasons of winning no more than 4 games, you didn't see us signing class after class of recruits that didn't have any other P5 options, sometimes not even any other D1 options. We weren't just bad, we were a joke. Now we aren't, and I am proud.

My words were:

"Mississippi State has built a foundation of consistency over the last decade that has set the table for Mike Leach to take Mississippi State from the category of relevant to the category of contender."

Don't make it anymore than it is. The hardest step is consistently winning, we have done that. Now over the next decade, the foundation is laid for Mike Leach to take MSU to the next level. It's a great time to be a Dawg.

One of only 5 to do it playing in a real conference too.

This is just silly. Yeah, we lost to South Alabama, and if we make a chip shot FG at the end of the game, no one remembers it. Sometimes, the stars align and teams lose to teams that are exponentially worse than them on paper. It happens every year to teams across the country, and one day it will happen to you. So quickly you forget the OT thriller with Division II powerhouse Jacksonville State. You're reaching.

Tell me this, what is worse?

losing to DI South Alabama at home due to a missed 25 yard winning field goal in the last 5 seconds of the game?

or

Taking DII Jacksonville State to OT at home?

Losing to Maine at home is worse

Guess y'all's luck ran out on that FG though, so sad. How many other close calls and come from behind victories have y'all been able to steal from the likes of UMass, UAB, and Troy this decade alone?

ETA:

Also, Jacksonville State is not D2, dumbass. The only other game they lost that year was the FCS National Championship Game to powerhouse North Dakota State

That Jax St team was packed full of former SEC players, and had more former 5* players than a lot of SEC teams did

Wow, are you really trying to pump a team that is brighter P5 or G5? What do they call it now DI-AA? Whatever it is, it’s not the same division we are in, they play for a separate national championship because they are clearly in a different division.

Losing at home to Maine is worse, but that was 15 years ago, and I clearly have stated that 15 years ago we were a joke.

Not that MSU consistently struggles against G5 schools, I’m sure there have been 2 or 3 over the last decade. You see this all over college football from just about every team. We lost to one G5 team over the last decade, the same amount as the national champions. LSU lost to Troy 2 years ago, I guess they suck and their program is a joke?

Here is a fact, Auburn is 4-4 against State inthe last 8 years. Stat after stat shows again and again that Auburn’s program is just a hair better than MSU’s over the last decade. I know you don’t wanna believe it, but it’s true.

Yes it is, only LSUc Georgia, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech have made a bowl game every year this millennium. It’s even more impressive that LSU has done it in the SEC West, model of consistency.

But LSU lost to Troy 2 years ago so they suck

You're not convincing anybody but yourself and your fellow delusional State fans.

You guys had a decent decade. Nothing special for most programs, but by far the best decade in y'all's history. I hope you savored every moment, y'all are more likely than not to revert to your historical mean in the upcoming decade

So instead of just boasting about this accomplishment, you have to bring up Ole Miss. Typical State fan. Stop obsessing over your rival and actually celebrate your school doing well.

Other than that, Mississippi State is the model of mediocracy. Proud of 7-8 win seasons and shite bowl appearances is good enough for a Mississippian, I guess

Yeah, it's called loyalty. Something "Leave at Halftime" LSU fans could learn.

From this information that is given, Mississippi State is on par with Auburn without Auburn's recruiting and Ole Miss is the worst athletic program in the SEC.

While State's ceiling is still limited, Mullen did A LOT to raise the floor of the program. The fact that Moorhead was as bad as he was but still was over .500 overall says something.

Feels like Leach will probably continue the trend. Probably won't threaten Alabama and LSU regularly but could do so on occasion, and the program should stay in the bowl picture every year with the possible rare exception.

Moron.
It’s a rivalry. Have you not seen all the LSU threads bringing up obscure ways they are better than Bama?
