One off the top of my head is Tristan Davis for Auburn. Dude was electric with the ball in his hands (averaged 13.3 yards per rush). He barely got any touches at RB, and then in typical Tubs fashion he was moved to defense. He was also a great return man ( averaged 26.5 yards per return).

Who you got?

Terrell Davis?

Seemed to be be in the doghouse with the head coach for some reason.

Trindon Holliday

Averaged almost 7 yards per carry for career, only got 115 career carries. He was only 5'5-5'6 but a very stout 165-170 pounds or so and had world class speed.

He also only had SEVEN career catches.

This was a guy Miles totally botched in total usage. He would have had 50-60 carries minimum a year as Canada's motion receiver.

He ended up with more kick and punt returns than he did rushing carries.

Trump card played...

ETA...looking back at 1997...UT starting Mark Levine over freshman Jamal Lewis in the first 3 games was one of the craziest things I can recall. It took a loss to Florida for the coaching staff to flip the switch to Lewis.

Tua, he barely played last year and is probably the best player on the team.

This should be the OJ Howard Award.

Miles also won a National Championship while Holliday was at LSU

And Russell Shepard.

At one point, LSU had BOTH Trindon Holliday and Russell Shepard on offense.

They were both hardly used.

Shepard came to LSU as the top dual threat QB in the country. He was moved to WR in favor of Jordan Jefferson/Jarrett Lee and rarely heard from again.

Damian Williams. He would have really thrived in the Petrino offense that came a few years after his transfer or the Gus offense that Nutt wouldn't allow Gus to fully implement.

Honorable Mention: Matt Jones. He wasn't necessarily underutilized, but I would have loved to have seen him in a scheme like Morris'.

And he was underutilized, not sure how that changes anything.

Because a team wins a title means literally every player was used 100% correctly?

Actually might beat my Trindon Holliday nomination, criminal he was never given a real chance at QB in an offense DESIGNED around him...and was an afterthought at WR.

Always fun to have a hall of fame player in the doghouse of a mediocre head coach.

OJ Howard easily.

In a lot of ways, Derrick Henry believe it or not. He didn't really get most of the carries until his last season and could have been utilized more in 2014 -- even more in 2013.

If you listen to 7SU fans, that would be every player they've ever had when Les Miles was there.

That's my bad. I misread it at first thinking it said something about Miles typically botching players, and how they'd be more effective with Canada.

I was saying that obviously Miles had some success while he was there, but then I realized it wasn't a total shot at Miles. Just a shot at his use of Holliday.
