False, that's Mississippi, and said state is divided between two schools.

I'd say 2 and 2/3rds schools. USM splits with us but not as big of a share.

Guys, it's Alabama. They went 12-28 over the course of five years before suspiciously winning 26 over the past two. Given their history in the past 20 years, it is likely that there is foul play behind all of this.

I think Arkansas might be a close second. Afterall , they celebrate having the finest facilities in the world and have nothing to show for it outside of track.

I'll go with Georgia....huge state population in the middle of recruiting hot beds yet no National Title in the big 3 sports since 1980. Ya'll have to remember that Arkansas has only 2.7 million people. But even with a small population we consistently pump out athletic freaks such as McFadden, Matt Jones, Mallet, etc....just not sheer numbers of DIV 1 talent. At least Arkansas had their awesome basketball run in the 90's and it appears our football might be on the brink of being relevant again.

Won a baseball NC in '90.
Runner up in '08

A couple #2 finishes in football in '02 and '07

'08 SEC Tourney Winner in Bball

ETA: We actually have a final four in the early 80s as well.

It si def not Florida. Their sucess and the huge number of great recruits is a direct corrolation to the population boom in the last 30 years. Prior to that, Florida was a very sparesly populated state on the edge of the country.

For the OP's question, it is UGA. They have some of the finest high school players intheir state to choose from, low academic standards compared to the other school in the state, and excellent facilities, average 10 wins a year, and have little to show for it.

Thirty years ago, ten million people lived in Florida. Hardly what I'd call sparsely populated. As a matter of fact, Florida has experienced explosive population growth every decade since 1940. Alabama and Florida had equivalent populations in the very early 1950's.

And if you go back the past 30 years, UF ranks in the top 5 in wins.

If you go back and compare the introduction of AC to Florida's (and all Florida schools) football records, you will see that as the population increases, consistency on the football field and big wins come too.

Man, the off-season is painful. I don't know how to pinpoint the most underachieving SEC program. Seems like everyone has pretty much done their part. I certainly wouldn't say that either UGA or UF has failed in any form. Both have pretty consistent programs that are always heavy contenders (if not overall winners).

I can see how someone would try to put Arkansas in question. But I think we have actually done the opposite. We do more with less because we don't have any other choice. Same with MSU.

It's good to see a realistic Hog fan who puts Arkansas on the same level as Mississippi State.

If you're talking about all sports, Bama has not done as well as we probably could have done. But, if your talking about state population, monetary resources, and the entire history from a program's inception, I'd say Florida and Georgia are pretty even.

I think it's probably better to do it by decade.

80's - Florida
90's - LSU
00's - Georgia

Before that, I'm not sure.
