I hate the Florida Gators. They are my least favorite team in the SEC. So many of you will think this is a troll. But objectively speaking, they have really only been good during the Spurrier era (90s-2000s) and the Tebow era (‘06-‘09). They didn’t win their first legitimate SEC championship until 1991.

Many would say it’s Aggie. But Aggie could never be what Florida could be. Many would say it’s UGA. After all, Florida does have one more consensus Natty than we do. But we have won many more SEC Championships, overall games, etc. Plus Florida is more than twice the size of Georgia.

TLDR: It’s Florida.

Plus we have won an SEC championship in every decade except the 1930s, 1990s, and 2020s.

With the money they’ve pumped in the program since the 60’s & 70’s, it’s easily aTm.

Florida at least has national titles in football and other Mens sports.

Once Texas joins, it will be close between aTm and Texas. Just considering the money flowing through both programs and their results since the 70’s.

MSU had more SEC titles than Florida before Spurrier took over.

The lizards are the team I like to beat more than any other.

They are a shite stain on not only the conference, but the whole South. Eff em!

Aggie is simply too weird to be a national power. It’s Florida.

Then Brian Kelly isn't the winningest ND head coach. Busted.

I am going to get trolled like hell for this, but it is LSU.

We are the only major program in a talent rich state and we went 45 years between nattys.

Other than Saban and Kelly, we have been so bad at hiring head coaches. We picked Archer over Spurrier and Miles over Spurrier again.

The fact that Miles and Ed O won nattys shows you what we are capable of. Any dumbass can win here now that Saban fixed the program. Had he stayed, we would be the greatest dynasty there ever was.

Sorry fellow Tigers, you don't have to like it. Saban got rid of the politics that plagued us and showed what can be done at LSU. Get over it baws.

Hopefully Kelly can finally get us to reach our potential.

A&M. Everybody else is a far, far second place. No place has done less, with more.

It’s a weird set of circumstances. When Meyer was down there he brought a lot of winning. He had just left Utah and that team went on and had some success and they still are having some success. Easy conference? Yeah for sure. But Whittingh has been a huge hire for them. Ohio State has had success when Meyer left. Two CFP appearances but probably won’t beat a Bama team again with how they’re put together. Still a lot of success. Florida has just had a lot of bad luck and bad hiring decisions made by the brass there. And as rich of a state for talent that Florida is, there is a ton of in state and out of state competition for the players.

UGA has three "consensus" titles, too (7 times voted #1 overall), in 1942, 1980, and 2021. Florida has three in 1996, 2006, and 2008.

Underachieved in the 60s-90s but not since then. Some LSU fans have unrealistic expectations. I’m happy with second-most successful program since 2000.

Since the ‘60s?

We were just starting to let women in the school and enrollment into the corps of cadets was compulsory until like 1965. We didn’t blow money then.

Hell, Wally Groff wouldn’t keep up with everyone else when he was AD. Slocum had to recruit with one arm behind his back.

First 40 or so years of the conference it is UF. Last 40 or so it is UT

I think you’re also talking about potential.

But these programs with huge potential like:

Florida
And
Texas

They have so much wound up expeditions vs PRIOR results that it’s hard to coalesce.

If the AP didn’t give it to us in ‘42 I say it’s not a consensus Natty. We can count it if we want, but ole miss and central Florida also count nattys they didn’t really win.
