While I know he was only a freshman, Christian Kirk got way too much hype considering he torched Arkansas (whose secondary was straight trash) and no one else last year

Kirk's worst game of the year was Ole Miss; so I can somewhat understand your opinion.
But I wouldn't agree that any hype he received was misplaced.
As you said, he was a freshman; and he was a pretty significant contributor on a high-caliber offense.

Kirk had 50+ yards receiving against Arkansas (8-173-2; his best game), Bama (7-90-0), State (8-77-0), and LSU (3-54-0). His ONLY conference TDs came against Arky, and his games against Carolina and Auburn were steaming clunkers as well. I think he's a very talented young receiver, but it's pretty glaring how mediocre he was in conference play considering he was arguably the biggest name on the freshmen All SEC team last year.

A&M's qb situation was all time bad last year. Kirk is legit.

Why? I don't think he's overrated at all. If anything tRant claims he sucks. UT fans underrate him. The media, fans, and UT fans all agree that Swag is the top returning QB.

Hell, the only person I know of that could be accused of overrating Dobbs is ironically Steve Spurrier - he said Watson and Dobbs were the two best QBs in CFB.

His high rushing game (yds) was v State; his longest rush was v Bama; and his longest reception was against Arizona State.
But you're right--he definitely shone the brightest during the Arkansas contest.
I honestly don't have a clue what his playing time was during each game; some of his numbers could simply be functions of having seen more action (as a freshman) during our stronger games.

Re: your characterization of him as "mediocre during conference play" ... I'm going to politely disagree with you.

Fournette. Racks up huge yards against shite defenses. He is good he's just not the super human he's made out to be.

Why don't we include his return numbers as well:

Arkansas - 4 returns for 77 yards

Mississippi State - 4 returns for 59 yards

Alabama - 5 returns, 111 yards, 1 TD

Ole Miss - A&M had fewer than 200 all purpose yards as a team

Vanderbilt - 1 return for 23 yards

LSU - 4 returns for 66 yards

It's a certainty. Hurd has at least 3 inches on Fournette and twice the girth.

I shite you knot

I sat next to a couple of drunk UT coeds in Knoxville last year. After numerous times a guy in front of us yelled for them to "GIVE IT HURD!",
One of them struggled to yell "NO, DONT GIVE IT HURD, HES BAD IN BED!"

I will never forget that in my life.

Hurd. Low YPC. Not in the same class of back he often gets compared to. Still a good player though.
