If he's the next Patrick Peterson he had better get busy. The hype has not matched the results by a large margin. But with Pelini, they were lost in the wilderness and that confusion was shared by the entire defense. We shall see, he definitely doesn't need any more Devonte Smith performances on his resume.

I mean, he led the SEC in interceptions in his true freshman year with 6, he also led the SEC in passes defended (while being 2nd in the nation in that stat) and he tied the SEC Championship Game record by having two interceptions. How many other corners have done that as a true freshman in the hardest conference in America. He did all of that on a team that went 15-0 and won the national championship too.
Due to an injury starting the year last year and other injuries that followed, he only played in 7 games as a sophomore and was playing injured when he did play. He barely did anything of note last year due to that.
I expect him to be great like he was his freshman year again this year.

All DBs should come to LSU and get their overrated status so they can make the bigger bucks in the NFL.

This point does need to be brought up. Rubbing a corners' performance vs Devonta Smith in his face really isn't fair, after all how many ever shut him down?
