You make some good points. I'll retract and reserve judgement until after this season. I'm still going to say I doubt Stingley amounts to Peterson, but this season will definitely tell the tale.

No, you’re making a false assertion and ignoring the gist of what I said actually accusing me of what you’re doing. I said to take a wholistic view instead of elevating one specific metric and devaluing others based on your bias, especially those that are more a product of circumstance and can’t be sustained. Or do you think Forbes will return 60% of his Ints for TDs the rest of his career?

I tend to lean toward your opinion also because I think mentally PP approached the game in a way that produces more sustainable results. Stingley coasted last season and that’s not a good sign though he may be reinvigorated with a new DC.

Listen to Stingley Sr.’s interview yesterday on the jordy culotta show. He specifically addresses this disinterest he had last season Bc of his injury and never really being sure if they will play or not bc or covid. It’s a great interview. Sr. says he sees the old Stingley back and hyped for the season and a “reserved” but strong and respected leader.

I'm not devaluing anything but you are devaluing Forbes pick 6's. I said who lead in categories that I found that would be revelant which are tackles, interceptions and pass breakups. Also, getting your 21 points is kinda revelant cause the most points wins.

Ok let’s apply your logic to another example

1995 Dallas Cowboys
Larry Brown- 6ints, 124yrds, 2TDs, 47tckls
Deion Sanders- 2ints, 34yrds, 0TDs, 26tckls

Joshua logic.. Larry Brown is a better CB than Deion Sanders

Pff has stingley as the 2nd best player in college football and our other corner Eli Ricks as the 9th ,I think, best player in college football. States corners didn’t grade out in the top 50 players.

It said stingley and ricks had the two highest grades for freshman corners in pff rating history. Stingley actually only gave up one 20 yard pass last year and in his freshman year he graded so far ahead of the rest it was crazy ,over a 90 . He was a unanimous freshman all American.ricks was better then sting last year but mostly cuz targets

Ricks had 2 pick 6s last year.

LSU has the top corner duo coming into this season and it’s not possible to come up with a different tandem that’s better. You admit that ,correct?

LSU safeties couldn't cover so there is that

Fixed it for you: historically bad safety play from the Tigers.

Derek Stingley is good. He just had the unfortunate luck of guarding one of the best receivers in the history of college football.

That doesnt bode very well does it?

Getting absolutely torched in the only game that matters in your season two years?

The NFL isnt so kind to them types

And when I say burned I mean literally embarassed eating grass on the ground looking at TDs

Well, shite, you said it. Stingley will have to retire, there's no way he'll make it in the NFL.

I know we were bad last year but ricks wasn’t and sting was out constantly. Trust me, you can have two good corners and have shitty safeties and nickels, and you will still suck arse. Looks like we will have jay ward at safety and he was good at the end of last year. We also have major burns from Georgia and the top 2 freshman safeties. I could be wrong , but I’m pretty sure we will be back to normal on d next year.

Y’all all had y’all’s fun last year ,that shits done. I mean it has to be right?

First of all he got beat against Bama in 2019 in 2020 he gave up one big play.

Why are you saying the only game that matters? He shutdown his side of the field in historic fashion in 2019 against Texas,Oklahoma,Clemson, and was the best player on the field for our d against Georgia and auburn. He had 2 picks in the sec championship, one against auburn, sealed the win with the pick against Florida. He had like 6 nits as a frosh
